Likes

Nice campus placement rate for ECE and CS.
Gender ratio is not that bad as it's around 1:4
Food is good compared to other hostels for 1st year.

Dislikes

Bad bathrooms and very bad hygiene I would say.
Teacher's teach outdated syllabus even for CS and ECE
Reservation cutoffs are very less compared to gen.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose ECE as it has scope for future jobs and development like companies like Nvidea. Real world experience is not given. Exams are in 2 months approx each. But I have heard from seniors that they are easier.

Class Size: 90Course Fees: INR 800000 per year

Placement Experience

I think 3rd year students can apply for campus placements and 70% of the students early can sit for placements and maybe CGPA is around for qualification in sitting placement is 6.5. My plan is also to get a job in a company like Nvidia.

Fees and Financial Aid

200000 for total year wise. I think it's less compared to others. Hostel is seperate 40000 same for all categories For ews it's 1/3 fees only. For sc it's 2/3 only. I have not availed for any scholarship.

Campus Life

There are many Texas related to IIT Mandi also there is one tech society named spec and I have applied for its interview. The tech societies prepare you for placements that each skills like blender and web development for example.

Hostel Facilities

Miss food is nice in the hostel and the menu is also unique you can also edit the menu by making a request to the dean of the hostel the fees for the hostel is 40000 rupees for everyone regardless of their category

Admission

I didn't apply to other college admission as I was confident in my own college. As I scored 97%tile in jee mains. You can get into nits and iits with jee mains and jee advanced. Jee mains is much easier compared to jee advanced.

Faculty

faculty-to-student ratio is around 1:90 I would say it's bad. There is not enough teacher student interaction and doubt solving. ECE teacher is strict and does not give marks and teaching using ppt which he doesn't provide. Other teachers are good.

Interview Experience

No.. there were no group discussion interviews I got into NIT Hamirpur by giving JEE main and I qualified by scoring more than the cutoff I prepared from YouTube itself like channels PW and unacademy.

Lack of auditoriium so most of gathering will be in open air theatre

A few reputed companies visit the campus each year, but the number of offers and salary packages varies depending on the branch and market conditions. Students who have strong academic performance, technical skills, internships, and good communication skills generally have better chances of getting placed.

The campus really respects diversity. Students from different states and countries study together and that inclusion makes a big difference
The infrastructure and fab faculties are unmatched, for people dedicated to carrying out research, they have almost everything atvtheir disposal
Extra curricular activities make sure one is involved in multiple volunteery things rather than just academics

Dislikes

Relevant placement opportunities with good packages can be improved
The fee for courses could be regularised
Mode of exam conduction should be completely offline to ensure transparency

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in last semester. They can choose to sit in placements and select if they would like to join the company theyve been selected for. Eligible candidates do end up getting great packages

Campus is very good and nice view from college
Faculty is polite and very helpful and kind

Very less internship and placement option
Very slow wifi speen and only 1 gb per day

Course Curriculum Overview:

Updated to align with NEP-2020 guidelines starting from 2023 onward. CSE (AI & DS) branch includes modern subjects like Data Science, Machine Learning, Python, Cloud basics. Core branches (ECE, ME, EE, CE) follow standard Indian engineering frameworks with essential subjects. Syllabus similar to other govt engineering colleges under HP Tech University, so fairly up to date.

the fee structure are affordable for any one and hostel are also very cheap
they also help student to build cinfidence as many event are there so a person can loose his stage fear
the support of teacher for students is very good

Dislikes

i would say that the computer labs are not in very good conditions
the computer are not even advantageouos for aiml student
the infrastructre is not that good even no wifi facility

Placement Experience:

so as the first batch of cse ai ml is going to passout this year so there is no record of placement but hoping that their placement would be good as per teacher's expectations and also they provide intership in iit mandi

The faculty and staff are well qualified appx. all are phd .
The junior senior interaction is good .
There is good coding culture and all senior all helpful .

Dislikes

Area of college is 15 km from una city .
The curriculum us hectic in each semester it has atleast 6 subject.

Placement Experience:

My college offer above good placement . About 85-90% of the eligible student get placed with median package of 9 lakh and average of 11 lakh . Our placement incharge is Nistha Hooda. Highest placement is of 60 lakh and minimum is 4 lakh

Likes

Hostel fees is quite less despite providing many facilities.
Mess food is tasty and campus is small but clean and beautiful.
Curriculum is up-to-date. Teachers are helpful and friendly.

Dislikes

There are many unnecessary restrictions in hostel.
Sometimes you have too wait too long for food in mess.
Less events are organized and sports infrastructure is not too good.

Placement Experience:

Placements are average , it totally depends on the students skills and their cgpa. From 5th sem students become eligible for campus placements. TCS, Infosys, Redhat vistited the campus and made more than 200 offers. 171+ companies visited. Highest package is 1.11cr, average is 6lpa. 70% students gets placed. Planning to go in tech related jobs in industries after getting the degree.

I like the campus, there is greenery all over the campus.
Sports and cultural clubs and the festivals
very good wifi facility in the campus. And good gender ratio in institute

Dislikes

Climate is hot during summer. But winters are appreciable
Mess food is not good that much.. but we can eat.
Sometimes in hostel there is non availability of water . In bathrooms

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it has more scope in India as India is a developing country. It also has government jobs more than other fields. We can shift to it sector this is the flexibility of this course.

Everything about my college

When I was applying for engineering, I had filled applications for a few other NITs and state engineering colleges, but finally I chose NIT Hamirpur because of its good academic reputation, supportive campus environment, and better placement opportunities compared to the others. Some colleges I applied to had very high cutoffs and I couldn’t make it there because my JEE Main score was slightly lower than required, but NIT Hamirpur’s cutoff matched my rank, so I got admission here. The admission process was through JEE Main followed by JoSAA counseling, which is the most common and preferred route for B.Tech aspirants. The eligibility was 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and the cutoff for civil engineering here was comparatively achievable for me. The overall admission process was transparent and smooth, from registering for counseling to final seat allotment.
