The life of a VJECian

Artificial intelligence is on its peak right now and I wanted to specialize in it therefore i chose artificial intelligence and data science over cse.The current curriculum is created by ktu is stable and balanced for the ads dept.There are 3 internal exams in each semester and a final sem exam with 2 lab exams conducted by external invigilators.The exams are conducted in a strict and timely manner.

The internships are mainly organized by companies like intrainz edutech,plasmid,L4G solutions etc with the support of college with a course fee.The interships covers atleast two projects(major and minor) and upto 5 certificates.The interships are thoroughly supported by the college and always benefit in the creation of a better cv or resume.MOOC course and NPTEL resources are also supported and promoted by the college

Companies come to the college from the 6th sem and goes on till 8th sem.The placements are given based on various criterias and tests.The first round is the aptitude round for most campanies later the group discussion round and finally the interview round.For tcs passing the aptitude round will qualify them for the 3lpa package and passing rhe intermediate round will qaulify the student for the 7 lpa package and advanced round will wualify them for the 9+ lpa package.Mostly the visiting companies are tcs,wipro,federal bank,infosys etc.Gate score and good gpa can boost the chances for getting placed.

On a normal basis all management and gov alllotment students are instructed to pay a fee of 95000 at the beginning for 1st year in which 10k will be the caution fee and the rest 85k is the actual tuition fee and the rest 10000 will be given back at the end of 4years of btech.Many other scholarships are provided for keam rankholders such as no need to pay fees until they get a backpaper if the rank is under 10k in keam.Also fee is reduced for good perecntage in their 11th.

There exists the techfest,art fest and all other cultural activies like onam,christmas etc each year.Last year the name of techfwst was tantra and art fest was avesham.The fests are conducted with huge funding from the college.Techfests contains evenets like autoshow,ar games,robot racing,vr,pc assemebling etc and art fests contains lots of events like speech,eng and hindi recitation,pencil drawing etc.There exists a lot of student run groups like IEEE,IEEE CIS,ACM,Music club etc for promoting creativity.

I was selected for Electronics and communication engg. In LBS kasaragod in first allotment but since i was interested in the IT sector i finally selected vimal jyoti engg college in ads.The admission can be attained either thirugh keam,management quota or through nri seat.Taking a seat in nri quota requires an intital payement of 3lakhs and later the fees would be same as that of other admission types which is 85k.Any keam passed student can approach the college for admission in management quota.

90 percent of the faculties are highly experienced and 10 of them have just cleared their mtech and joined for teaching.Most of them have been teaching for generations and are very good at it Eg:Prof.Manoj V Thomas hod of ads has been a nit suratkal mtech rank holder and has an experience of more than 15yrs in the teaching field.The pressure from the faculties makes the student to learn and pass as many papers as possible.Even then there exists failures but vjec is among the 2nd best college in the entire malabar after kannur engineering college.
