Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is a professional course and therefore the curriculum comes from the Bar council of India. It has all the relevant and contemporary topics required in the field in future. Law is a course in which you need practical information more than theory. Therefore we are required to do an internship every eester giving a practical experience on the professional requirements. The exams are application based amd problem based. With more weightage to problem solving. They are twice a semester. They are difficult ag various points but it is manageable.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

We have 1 internship after every semester and therefore the internship culture is very rich. Our campus recruitment cell also works regularly to ensure good internships. Generally most of our seniors intern under tier 1 firs like teilegal, khaitan, sam and cam. This creates a good base for the incoming atudents as well. Generally legal internahips are without stipends. The Internships are a mandate for practical knowledge.

Placement Experience

3

Mostly the students recieve good college placements but apart from that theough internships the students manage to secure pre placement offers. Generally, tier 1 firms are also here for placements like Khaitan and co. Corporate offices also come for the placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Institue of Law, Nirma University takes tuition fess of Rs. 2,95,000 per year and apart from this there are examination fees amd activity fees which takes the total amount to Rs. 3,02,000. The fees is also subject to an average annual rise of Rs. 2000 to 3000. The registration fees or fees to fill the form amounts to Rs.2500. The admission into the college is on the basis of CLAT rank. There are two types of scholarship offered by the college: 1. Merit based scholarship: Given to the top students based on their clat rank in 4 divisions: 1- 4: 100% 5-7:75% 8-10: 50% 2. Merit cum means: Given to students with a low annual household income. The NRI students give a fees of Rs.6,31,000 annually. The similar divisions are used for this category as well.

Campus Life

4.5

Our college hosts one of the biggest fests named Ashwamedha. There are 9 Institutes with the university campus therefore good number of festivals amd camps are hoated now and then. The canteens and mess is also available. Sports committee is very active jn Nirma. We have a new sports complex being built. Apart from sports activities like Moot, debate, research council, arbitration etc. Also play an integral role. There are many student run centres and conferences.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There 4 hostels with 2 hostels for girls. The hostels are newly made and hence there are very spacious with a good interior. There are rooms with ac and non ac. The occupancies also differs depending on your convinience. Mostly all rooms have attached washrooms and a balcony. The wardrobes are spacious as well. The hostels are in campus so it saves transportation fees.

Admission

With my CLAT rank i was securing tier 2 or tier 3 Nlus which was not something i wanted to go for. Basied on alumni experience and their feedback i came to chose this college. Additionally in comparison to other private collwgws it charged lesser fees with a similar expoaure and even better at many fields. The strong alumni base also helped me chose this college. The on campus residence was a great factor in chosing this college. I wanted a campus life and therefore went for this college. Additionally thw city was also a factor that helped me chose my college.

Faculty

4

The faculty members here are really learned. Many of them have completed their higher education from reputed colleges like DU, Oxford etc. They inculcate a good environment for intellectual activities rather than book based. Our political science peofessors are really good. They really help in all round development of the students by posing challenging question and in and out of the class. We have 2 written exams per semester mid semester examination for 40 marks and end semester exam for 100 marks. Its a difficult one to score particulary the Ba.llb course.

Other Applied Colleges

Symbiosis Law School - [SLS] | Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Law [BALLB] {Hons.}

Lack of on campus residence. Similar exposure. Additionally my college fees is way less than what sls takes.

Maximum students passed out from ILNU go for corporate law while those who want to work in dream law firms get the much needed chance here. Top law firms like Cyrilchand Amardas and Trilegal and others also come for placement here. So, far the highest placements from ILNU has been of 24LPA.

Placements from campus are still lean but we are assisted through seminars and corporate events to find the best placements for ourselves. Our college makes us independent and make us competent enough that we don't have to struggle much for jobs.

Placement Experience:

For law students internship after every semester is mandatory. Hence, if they perform well there they can get placements without campus placements. In campus from corporate houses to various big law firms came and offered jobs worth 10-15LPA per annum. The placement percentage dropped significantly in our year and I don't know why but only half the students had placements from the campus. However, some students got placements worth 20LPA or more from our campus.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements right from their 4th year. We have our Day 0 in the month of august in our final year although most of the batchmates start getting their PPOs right from their 4th year. Top tier firms like SAM, CAM, AZB, NDA, Khaitan, Indus, and JSA, visit our campus for conducting the interviews on Da zero. Our seniors have been made 70 offers and 40 students got their jobs through campus placements. The highest Package lies around 22 lahks per annum and the average package is 6 lakh per annum. But very few students get placed through college placements and one has to be in the top 40 of the batch in order to get it through college.

Placement Experience:

Students after their 7th semester become eligible for placements. There are various companies and law firms such as Trilegal and Khaitan that hire students from the campus. Banks and chambers also hire students from the university. The average package is of 10 lacs per annum and atleast 70 percent of the students get placed through the campus recruitment. As if now I'm not sure if what to do after graduating but I'm trying to get a corporate job with a decent salary.
