Yes, according to my more than 2-year experience in this college. I'll be more positive about my college like all the facilities, faculty, infrastructure, other activities are very nice. Also with the study. I really enjoyed my college life also.

Course Curriculum Overview

Presently I'm doing Electrical Engineering as per my own interest in this field and I have got very much theoretical as well as practical knowledge about my course. All the labs are well settled for performing experiments and they are equipped with all the machines and equipment.

Placement Experience

There are a lot of job and placement opportunities for students who were studying here. Almost every year about 200 plus companies visit here for recruitment process including Microsoft and many more.

College Events

So much cultural and non cultural programmes are celebrated here such as Urja - the event for sports Nox night - dance night Hostel night - for Diwali party. Trips are also organized at every vacation.

Fee Structure And Facilities

According to me, fee is much higher. It is almost 2 lakhs per semester 1.5 lakhs for semester fee and remaining 50 thousand for hostel and mess fee but as per the facilities given by the institute, this is a feasible amount.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, scholarship facilities are also available there for the lower case students who can't afford the fee. And also to those students who got the highest marks in the semester and secure higher position.

Campus Life

Extracurricular activities are also there. The student's societies are made for different purposes like dancing, sports, web gaming, weekend trips, social working. So as per the interest of the students, they can join those societies.

Hostel Facilities

I have not opted hostel. I'm day scholar basically but according to my opinion as I have visited hostel with my classmates. The hostel infrastructure is also very good. All the facilities are given to the students.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, the alumni network is also very helpful during any kind of problem they are always there to help the students. Seniors students are also well-behaving and helpful any kind of violence and raging is not done by them and it's also prohibited in the college.

Faculty was totally awesome. Their teaching method is different than other colleges theoretical concepts are cleared in lecture classes and numerical doubts are taken further in tutorial classes for further queries we can go to the teacher's cabin during meeting hours which are given to the students separately by the faculty.

supportive campus environment with the comfortable in the classess
faculty most faculty members are very much supportive and they guide the students in the right way only
events are there in the campus provided by the campus.

A Vibrant Campus with good learning and great opportunities

Likes

good infrastructure , large libraries and practical labs

class size can be large , it helps every child to interact
academic work is quite high , the schedule may feel hectic especially during examination

The curriculum is relevant and covers core cse subjects like programing DSA and DBMS . it provides good fundamental for placements and further studies , more practical projects and industry based teaching would improve it .

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

i got selected to VIT vellore , but as i belong to punjab, and the level of VIT and TIET is the same, i preffered TIET i could even get a lower branch at NITJ (95%ile), but i did not want to compromise on my branch. admission process - you fill up an online form where you fill hostel preferances (like branch and college preferances in JoSAA) from thr options of hostels available for you (J, H, FRF and FRG for boys, I G E and PG for girls). you come here acc to time slot given to you acc to your percentile or boards percentage you are called into the main audi you get alloted a hostel there you fill up some forms, pay the mess fee, hostel fee and course fee in there go to hostel get your room keys and mess card issued then setup your room...Read More
