Course Curriculum Overview

4

In first year, we have too many subjects that were not even required. Like french/ german. They said it is for going to foreign countries but lets be realistic, its only for 1 year and who can achieve a good language proficiency in 1 year with 1 class per week. Some other subjects we had like machining and stuff was all required to be crammed by the students as they don't have any machines or labs for the practical of that subject. There's some subjects you would feel like they are out of the place. Second year we have better, more course related subjects.

Internships Opportunities

3

Not sure about which internship opportunities are provided as I am currently in second year and Internships from college will start in third year. Projects will also be given in 3rd year. Currently we only have assignments which hardly have any impact as they don't really require any creativity or problem solving, just theory.

Placement Experience

3

The other campuses of Amity have an average package of 2.5-3.5 lakh in Btech. But our campus has not yet placed a single person in Btech as it's a 4 year program and first batch would passout in 2025. So we can't say anything about how much would be the packages but yes, we do have good companies coming for placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

First semester we paid 1,36,000 out of which 1,11,000 is the fees for first semester. And 25,000, was security. We paid 50,000 in advance for registration and the rest 86,000 later. Next semester we paid 1,16,600 and this semester we paid 1,22,500. The fees increases by 5% every semester. If you have chosen a specialisation instead of Core Btech CSE, the fees is 1,00,000, and doesn't increase. 100% Scholarship was 95% and above in 12th State Board 50% for 90-94.99 30% for 90 and above 100% for JEE main 97-100 Percentile 75% for 94-96.9 50% for 90-93.9

Campus Life

3

Overall experience was decent. Easier to make friends and know almost everyone as its not very crowded. Sports facilties are good, infrastructure is great but we don't have coaches for each sport ahixh would be rather helpful in making good teams for the college and winning in competitions at other universities. We have clubs like singing, dancing, tech, etc. There is no student union tho, which is a bit of a downside.

Admission

I chose Amity University because it's near my locality. It was a new university so less crowded and better chances at placements as the college would push both the companies and students in first few years for their business purposes. I didn't apply to any other universities as I got admitted to Amity in first go and wanted to go here itself.

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is like 1:25 I guess. Some faculties are good and approachable while some are not. Shailendra Sir, Neha Mishra Ma'am, Himanshu Jindal Sir, Sarika Grover Ma'am are very enthusiastic in teaching. Tanveen Kaur Bhatia Ma'am is not good with attendance. You would sit in class and not get attendance sometimes just because of that 1 kid making noise. She doesn't even help you with attendance at the end and is the only teacher that gives hardly 14-15 marks out of 25 in Internals. Not a good experience having her as a teacher and hardly scoring in mid terms or end terms while students in other class scored well just because their teacher is lineant.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Good staff are very nice and supportive nature. There are not any faculty problem. Functions are organized in a very large scale which is very good. Ragging are strictly banned in college which is very good for fresher students. BAD: lack of equipment and machines in labs. Lack of practical knowledge for students.
