Course Curriculum Overview

4

The academic life in MBBS is really challenging and interesting as you are bombarded with an ocean of information that is relevant in saving the life of an individual after you finish this course. The thing that I would like to include to improve the court curriculum is that- apart from internals and professionals there should be clinical-based quizzes in single or groups that will help in enhancing the clinical knowledge and skills of the students in becoming a better doctor

Fees and Financial Aid

The admission fee charged by my college was around 2300 rupees only with 1000 rupees as counselling fees. Year-wise each student is charged 5000 rupees for registration and 6700 rupees (for non hosteller) and 9700 rupees (for hosteller) before the final professional examination.

Campus Life

4

The campus life of SMCH is literally amazing. There is a myth floating in the society like medicos are just bookworms. But in reality, in a government medical college like ours medicos whole heartedly participate in various events organised like Holi, Deepavali, Satraswati Puja, Rabindra Jayanti, Independence day and what not. There are two special events organised annually that are Plasma (in April) and Plexus (in October or November). This gives an opportunity to us to showcase our hidden talents. there is a library located in the first floor of administrative block where you can get a plethora of books and medical journals.

Admission

I applied for all the government medical colleges present in my state including the college in my city. I kept SMCH as second choice because the food, language and culture of the place suits my interest. The admission process in the college was quite simple. One has to clear the admission cut off of NEETUG entrance provided he/she has completed 12th and then attend the counselling.

Faculty

4

Talking about the faculty to students ratio, for each faculty there are around 20-30 students. The faculty-student relationship is literally good , they are supportive, most of them are always ready to clear the doubts of students until and unless we get the concepts crystal clear. Moreover, the mentorship program has been introduced recently that enables the students to share their daily experiences with the faculty that includes things apart from their academic life as well.

Night Life

3

The college has a gym, cafeteria and library which remains opened from 8 am to 9 pm. Hostel gates are closed around 7:30 pm for girls while there is no fixed timing for gate closure in boys hostel. The college is situated at a very few kilometres away from the main town. There are a number of restaurants located nearby the campus where you can fill your mouth with mouth-watery dishes, prices of food are also not so high. If you are a biryani lover, locals will always recommend you Nawab's biryani as it's best in the town. Momo lovers can visit Momo house at NIT point where you will literally not able to forget the taste after you take just one bite. Safety of the girls is a bit compromised as there has been no proper recruitment of security guards, CCTV cameras and lights around the girls hostel specially. News of strangers roaming around the girls hostel are also being heard sometimes.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course is not at all easy like all the other courses but since this course deals with life and death situations I would say the practical applications introduction has lead to a better side of this course. This course is completedly real world based curriculum. The faculty members are well equipped to everything they teach and the methods currently focus on application based studies. This course has many exams each month and therefore the student has to study properly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I always wanted to be a doctor so that I could cure people and help them to get rid of various diseases. The faculty: student ratio is approx 1:4 The faculty are highly qualified with MBBS, MD, MS, DM, March, and various other degrees done by them. The teaching process includes lectures in the classroom with the help of smart slides. Almost every month there are exams but there are internals every 3 months and finally the finals. Medical study is one of the toughest courses to pass as we need to know about a lot of different things all at once
