Remarks

One not so hidden thing about large fee structure is what makes students think thrice before coming here! College is absolute beauty to spend you 4 precious and crucial years of your life! It's your life, make it or drown it! If you really want to do something, what i have seen is, college is always there! Go out and do whatever you want to! 3 years....NO regret! Thanks!

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is one of the best part here as TIET follows curriculum in accordance with Trinity College,Dublin! There are 5-7 subjects every semester, carrying respective credits(based on subject's study hours per week) which obviously affects the weightage of subject in CGPA!! Each subject is evaluated twice(midsem+endsem exams) and lab evaluations(in case subject has lab work) and quizzes! No much pen paper work, just learning and applying method used in labs!

Placement Experience

4

TIET, unlike some other reputed colleges, actually is giving better results each year in terms of placements! Placements are far better than CFTIs,GFTIs and a lot of NITs! Let me break it into points: Highest package: 2016~30 lacs pa 2017~38 lacs pa 2018~44 lacs pa Average package(lpa)~5-6 That of COE~8-9 lpa **COE average placements~90%+** Now, internships,College provide lot of internship opportunities! College has a special focus on internships! Good number of students have already got internships from reputed firms with stipend reaching upto 35k! Each student is notified about any such opportunity!!

College Events

4

A lot! Technical events like hackathons(MAKEATHON, CCS) Saturnalia(techno cultural fest) Cultural events(spic macay, religious events) Donation events Non-profit teaching Talent hunt events Sports events and a lot more...

Fee Structure And Facilities

OBVIOUSLY expensive! But as my title suggests, worthy if you excel in studies and do well! Just that, college is offering what it is taking for! All kind of students i have seen in college, everyone trying to make best use of what he/she have paid!

Fees and Financial Aid

There, indeed, are various scholarship schemes offered by college! Schemes are based on 10+2 marks and JEE mains score(combined). Scholarships range from 85,000 pa to 2,40,000! Also, top 10 scorers of every stream are offered scholarships by college! Loan facility is available at SBI bank within campus!

Campus Life

5

TIET have nice exposure on sports! There are various sports equipments available at sports room for students for free use! Thapar have a number of well formed teams like handball, cricket and volleyball, which have won a lot of tournaments! I think there's a good enough room at TIET to carry on your hobbies and interests!

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel J and M are ace of spades for TIET! Hostels are just beautiful experience! Some hostels are average though! But again, some are absolutely treat! Food quality is quite good! Hostels offer AC, refrigerators, TV and stuff(varying hostel to hostel!)

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is strong as there is a society working, known as Student Alumni Interaction Cell(SAIC). Alumni frequently visit college and donate for welfare of students! Seniors are very helpful and nice behaving here, unlike other colleges! No ragging or any other offensive scene ever heard of!

Faculty

4

Faculty, no doubt, meets the expectations of students! Some professors excelling in thier field! Highly co-operative and knowledgeable faculty! Not to forget the Student Response Survey(SRS) being filled by students twice every sem is an important feature!

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
