Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriulum is good and bad both. It does contain some new subjects as elective but main section of the curriculum is outdated expect few courses. Classrooms does not have mic so teacher sound does not reach beyond the first 3 seats. 1st and 2nd year is hectic. In midsem we do not get holidays but in endsems we get holidays.

Internships Opportunities

4

Few companies gave intership oppurtunities to the students. Companies like Well Fargo ( stipend around 50000 Rs), Reliance ( around 25000 Rs), Amazon(now it has blacklisted us), Honda, Mars (stipend around 50000 Rs), Genpact and few more companies.

Placement Experience

3

From 7th semester we becomr eligible for college placements. Around 120 companies visit the campus of IT sector, Core Sector, Banking Sector and some research companies. Highest package was 1.2 crore Rs off campus. Average is around 12 lakhs. My plan after b.tech is going for a masters degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Collge Tution Fee - 62500 Rs per semester and it is zero for SC/ST/PH students. Per Semester Insitute Fee - 21100 Rs applicable for all the categories. One Time Admission Fee - 13000 Rs applicable for all the students. Fees is not Increasing. People having income less than 5 lakhs get a discount of 2/3 of their tution fees.

Campus Life

3

Campus life was pretty chill. Nit Hamirpur organises 2 festivals, first Hillfair(cultural fest) in November and a technical fest Nimbus around March. Library is big and contains good on amounts of book with each book having multiple quantities. College had a cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis teams. It has both cultural and technical clubs and societies.

Hostel Facilities

3

Each room has bed, table, chair, fan and almirah, For first 3 years students will live in 3/4 occupany rooms. Mess quality is average. Sometimes food taste is good and sometimes it is uneatable. Allotment of room is done ion CGPA criteria and in 1st year it is on the basis of first come. Hostels are very affordable.

Admission

Admission in this college is based on JEE Main exam. After the exam students have to registered themself on JOSSA platform and you will be assigned this college on the basis of your choice and merit. It has 50% seat reservation for Himachal Pradesh students, so cutoff for them is very low.

Faculty

3

The Student to Faculty ratio is poor. Most of the faculty do not bother about students. There is only one faculty Amit Kaul Sir who knew the name of every student in the class but he is very strict. We had 4 exams each semester(2 quiz, midsem and a endsem). Teaching experience of each faculty is average.

Night Life

2

Hostel life is difficult as there is shortage of water during some months. Bathrooms are not maintained but they are cleaned everyday. Rooms are congested as more people are living in each room than the anticipated quantity. In final year only 80% students get single room. All the canteen in the campus closes at around 10 PM.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Updated to align with NEP-2020 guidelines starting from 2023 onward. CSE (AI & DS) branch includes modern subjects like Data Science, Machine Learning, Python, Cloud basics. Core branches (ECE, ME, EE, CE) follow standard Indian engineering frameworks with essential subjects. Syllabus similar to other govt engineering colleges under HP Tech University, so fairly up to date.
