Course Curriculum Overview

4

Till now nothing specific to civil engineering has started so that I can't say but in terms of Physics chemistry maths it's interesting. Professional communication subject is the subject which is good for real life things for example it teaches what group discussions, interview, formal informal communication is and practical of that also happens ..

Internships Opportunities

4

There's a lot of internship opportunities provided by the college as I can see my seniors getting internships. But for now I don't have that much idea about what real scenario is..as im a first year student.

Placement Experience

3

Placement are not that good not that bad for this year as the recession hit like for example this year civil engineering placement percentage for whole batch was 47% which is way too less. I don't know about the employability plans after completing the course.

Fees and Financial Aid

Hostel fees - 35000/- rs per semester Mess fees - 65000/- rs per semester Tuition fees - 30000/- rs per semester Overall fees for 4 years will be roughly around 8-10 lakhs. Fees of other batchmate. Comes under 1lac per annual income category and only has to pay hostel fees.

Campus Life

5

This college is so much happening like in every 2-3 days there's a small event. And events are also organised with full enthusiasm and its too awesome.. Infrastructure is also good for classrooms. Hostels are mid but they provide 1000mbps lan which is just too good.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostels are double sharing for veg mess Triple sharing for non veg mess. Ac is not available and rooms are too much spacious given with private almirahs bed table chair study rack and 1lan port. Mess food is also good all the products used in mess is high end.

Admission

Because obviously this is NIT surathkal which comes under 20 nirf, couldn't make it too iit due to my own negligence and lack of confidence. In my college admission for btech is only done through jee mains and seat is alloted through josaa

Faculty

4

On paper the qualification of faculties are too awesome but not that good in terms of teaching. Some are exceptionally good and deserves to be respected. Course curriculum is also somewhat hectic like there is assignments, quizzes midsems endsems and all. Faculties are easy to approach as the batch size is only 80

Night Life

2

For the first years there's no nightlife. The block timings for first years for the first 2 months is till 7pm and after 2 months it will changed to 9 pm and after that 11pm so for me there's no as such nightlife which exists

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is a mix of both Computer Science and AIML which is increasingly relevant in today's world. Second year: Subjects like Mathematics for AIML, Data Structures, Stats for Data Science, Computer Networks, Third year: DBMS, ANN, ML operations Some other elevtives are also available and courses like Universal Human Values, POME, EIPR etc. Honestly, POME, EIPR, UHV should have less course credits and probably MCQ type exams (like IC and Yoga in first year). Curriculum is good and updating for applications helped along with projects. Exams are generally once in a month, 1.5 - 2 units for each subject each exam. Lab exams at the very end before CIE marks finalization. Then 2 weeks gap for Lab SEE, then 1 week gap and actual SEE's.

Placement Experience:

KSIT has an average placement rate of 70%-85% depending on the branch . CSE,ISE and ECE branches have higher placements while mechanical and civil have fewer opportunities in IT sector . Average package is about 4-6LPA . KSIT attracts many IT based recruitiers with some core companies for non -IT branches . It also provides pre-placement training, coding boot cams, aptitude tests and soft skills development . Alumni network is moderate, but students need off-campus efforts for high paying jobs
