Likes

The university has a very green campus with different biodiversity. It has a beautiful botanical garden.
The professors are very accountable and hardworking
The classrooms are very neat and clean with large space and projectors

Dislikes

The washrooms are little bit dirty which becomes difficult for students to pee
The class hours are very lengthy from 9to 5
The hostels are little dirty to live and congested.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is flexible. The students can get out of the course any time in a flexible manner. It is also very comprehensive in case of syllabus and time management. If we consider the fees it is very affordable for students regarding.

Fees and Financial Aid

The gauhati University fee structure is moderate for every student. It is very affordable. The admission fee is little bit high but the semester exam fees are less then 1000. Various funds are given in the University which are used by the authorities to uplift the infrastructure. The ST SC gets various privileges .

Campus Life

The universe has a beautiful infrastructure with a very aesthetically designed buildings. It also has a beautifully weaven campus with a great biodiversity. It also has a educated faculty and teaching staff.

Admission

Gauhati university provides a five year integrated masters program for students in a afford price which is not provided by any university in Assam. The reason behind choosing this university is that it has a big campus full of greenary. Gauhati university is also the first university of Assam.

Faculty

The faculty members of gauhati University are very hardworking and accountable. The students can get any kind of information from the faculty members without any difficulties. The university also provide a five year integrated masters program to the students with affordable fee. The exams are held after every 6months.

Night Life

The university has a market place is becomes the most hangout place for its students as it provides different beautiful materials of their uses. It also has a open gym which cost only 25rupees per month. it has a ball auditorium and many basketball courts.

My thoughts about my college

Likes

Faculty members of our college is very good
The thing i like that teacher in our college use projector to teach us
In our college, the students get to join various seminars, which college authorities provide us with time to time

Dislikes

The main thing which i disliked about our college is that our college campus is small if you compare it with other colleges
In our college we dont have clean toilets, and the toilets smells very bad
The next thing is that there were various construction going on in our college so for now thr college environment is healthy enough for a student to perform

Course Curriculum Overview:

As i want to appear for civil services examinations in future, so for me political science subject is helpful for my future career, in our department out faculty trach us in a decent manners, but there are some improvements needed with time

I was interested in political and it influenced me set my decision to choose this course. The curriculum was good enough to prepare me for further academics. The frequency and timings of exams are regular. The difficulty of the exams depends on the student's preparations

Likes

I liked the overall environment of our college
My department (Geography) Faculty members are very good.
The teachers not only help in academics but also guide us for our better well-being.

Dislikes

Construction is going on in the college campus.
Though it has gain the autonomous tag still didn't get any such benefit.
The toilets are very unhygienic and have very bad odour.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our course is very easy to understand anyone who is new to this branch or doesn't have any idea about geography can easily understand the topics through the guidance of our faculty members. They provide extra classes for better understanding of the students.

When I saw a professor doing the hypnotize process. The curriculum activities are much help to the future or the present generation. For the course curriculum, it is huge so deep explanation is required. No problem in this aspect.

I like the way the teachers of our department interact with us. They are very friendly. The campus is very good. We had sitting place for students to sit and relax when they don't have classes. We had a good playground.
The students of silapathar college are quite wonderful, friendly, helpfull.

Dislikes

Things I don't like about my college is , the principal of our college is quite rude, doesn't interact with the students. He don't even allow to enter to his office.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose English literature because I want to study literature, wants to study more about people. In our department there are very few students, 60% are girls and 40% are boys. We had four teachers in our department, namely, DR. PUBALI BORA KASHYAP (Qualification: M.A, Ph.D., UGC- NET), PREM PRASAD SHARMA (Qualification: M.A, M.PHIL), Gitima Deka (Qualification: M.A., M.PHIL), Raju Pegu (Qualification: M.A, M.PHIL). The teachers take tests continuously.

The admission criteria are based on 12th class grades. The examination of the 12th grade should be given from any recognized board. The admission is given on the basis of merit. My name appeared in the first list itself. Then I had secure my admission by completing all the formalities of the admission.

For admission, anyone who has passed his/her 10+2 in any stream can apply by going to the online admission portal(website) but at the time of mine, there was no such facility so We use to go college and apply directly by filling the form(paper-based).

Remarks:

Overall, I'd say college is very good. It is one of the finest colleges in the state. I came from elsewhere to study at this college and I don't regret my decision. I made many new friends and now I am used to the environment so it will be difficult for me to leave this place.

My academic experience at University Law College, Gauhati University

Before enrolling myself in ULC, GU it tried to get in to Facuty of Law, Delhi University but because of lack of preparation time as I decided to get myself into studying law very late, I could't clear that particular exam and then to seek for other options I found ULC which has a very rich history of a great alumni base including esteemed Jurists and Lawyers around the country. The admission process includes an examination of 100 marks coducted by Gauhati University which tests students knowledge in various aspects including General Knowlege, English, Mathematics, Logical Reasoning. The cut off for general category students ranges from around 20 to 30 based on the result of other students. I got through this exam scoring 56 with a rank of 5.
