Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is up-to-date which makes students industry-ready. Also, the real world applications are done by making students engaged in events like hackathons and research conferences. Many teams from our college have participated in SIH and some has won also. The teaching methods of some faculties I would say is poor, so as students, you have to put more efforts from your side. I guess in initial sems the lectures are more so kind of more hustling but after 2nd year there is not much college going for lectures like only 3 days a week you have to go to college.

Internships Opportunities

4

I have been part of one of the internship opportunity which was provided for 6th sem students, it was for iOS Developer role in Infosys and after being selected one month internship at Infosys Mysore campus. And that was I would say the best memory till now in my college life many, also one of my friend also got a 6 months internship opportunity at Amazon.

Placement Experience

3

As currently the placements season is going on, so till now in CSE the highest package was offered is 21LPA by Acko company. The average package varies around 4-5 LPA. Also many big MNCs have also visited and some of their process is still going on like Accenture, LTI Mindtree, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and Capgemini. Many startup has also came but they have that bond thing like 2-3 years of bond. Till now I guess around 20% of students are placed only. The fourth year students are eligible to take part in on-campus placements but the students who got any internship opportunity in any other year then college support that by providing NOC to them.

Fees and Financial Aid

When I enrolled in this course in 2021, the yearly fee for B.Tech CSE was Rs. 159000. But I guess now it has been increased by Rs. 10000. Some scholarship benefits are there, but only for for students domiciled in UP. Other state students get some fee waiver if they belong to any reserved category. Also the fees of other courses like B.Pharma and other tech courses like BCA and BSc is around Rs. 150000 per year.

Campus Life

4

There are many clubs which students can join according to their interest in their first year. There are a lot of tech clubs also for CSE students. Also regarding campus life I would say you won't get disappointed as many fest are going on every 2 months which have many big celebs also. Regarding infrastructure, I would say it has improved a lot from last year by having many MAC labs for higher sem students. Student council also host many trips of 5-10 days. Freshers are one of the big fests for which every student is excited.

Admission

I have given JEE mains and Advanced also but my rank was not so good also being from General category I was not able to get CSE stream in good colleges, even my application was accepted in many good colleges in South India but being the money constraints I wasn't able to take hostel so I opt for any nearest good college for CSE and after hearing reviews I decided to Join GU as it fees was comparatively low than other good colleges and I heard good things about their placements so I joined it. The admission process was smooth by filling one form online and giving some small amount as a deposit but they have criteria also that if you didn't have a good percentage in 12th then they don't give CSE branch.

Faculty

3

The course curriculum is up to date on new industry trends which makes students industry-ready. Also about the faculties I would say that it depends on what faculties you get in some semesters, you would get good faculties and in some, you would get bad. The exam pattern is as follows in every sem there are two main exams one MTE(Mid Term Examination) of 50 marks and the other is ETE(End Term Examination) of 100 marks, else than that some internal marks are given by the course professors by taking some IA(Internal Assessments), which is done on the GU LMS platform. The difficulty level of exams is moderate so students can score good marks. The marks in our mark sheet are in CGPA form. There is also a very low percentage of students who fail in exams.

Night Life

3

The hostel in our university is for boys only and from what I have heard that they can't leave the university premises after 10 pm and if they want they have to make talk their warden to their parents. The famous hangout and nearest places are Alpha, Nimbus but they are a bit costly. Also regarding safety then it is safe to roam in night inside premises as we girls have also done this while we were there in college for 24-hr hackathon. The college cafeteria has wide range of food options which is far better than the mess food given to boys in hostel. The gym is also there for boys in hostel and clothes washing facilities is also there.

Placement Experience:

Placements are both on and off-campus based. Placements are usually common for both IT and Non-IT students, Technical or Non-Technical. Students become eligible, in their final years to pursue internships or acquire placements. Usually students from Computer Science and Engineering avail more placement opportunities. The Medical Department have more options of Employability. Companies like HCL, Byju's, Extramarks, IBM and other local companies like Stambh Power Systems, Pieinfocomm and others have arrived. But the placement ratio needs to be increased. Off-Campus Placements are more successful. Highest Package can be 8lpa CTC to average package be 2.5lpa CTC, with profiles of assistance and associates. Atleast 30% students get placed on average. My plans are based on Learning in different ways.
