Course Curriculum Overview

2

I chose it based on how easy the nata aptitude test was, but that was nothing related to the course I must say, I don't think the curriculum prepares you for the real world, maybe about 5% of it. I know a college isn't supposed to be as such but I really think teaching the students like they don't know a single thing would be rather helpful and inclusive, also because not every students pace would be the same.

Placement Experience

3

Since our HOD changed this year, I'm not sire about when the placements are available, most probably would be for the 5th year students so 9th sem onwards. Not sur3 about which companies either, highest package would be 8000 I'm guessing, we don't get paid much. My plan is to switch courses, this was absolutely useless to me :)

Fees and Financial Aid

Approx 75000 per year (through KCET) , it increases every year, I think my classmates pay about 1-2 (through other entrances) lakhs per year. Not sure about the reservation categories or scholarships given

Campus Life

2

Annual would be the UDBHAV fest (idk which month) and Kannada Rajyotsava fest in November, the faculty keep mentioning books but we can't find them in the block library, the main library mostly caters to engineering students. Technological provitions include a computer lab and projector screens that's all. The college has few sports teams and extracurricular clubs bit you have to dig in and find out a lot coz they aren't really promoted.

Hostel Facilities

2

(White lotus hostel) A bed, table and attached bathroom is provided. There are 3 types single, double sharing and triple sharing. They provide food but it's veg and not that great. Hostel fees is pretty pricey I'd say. Registration just requires proof of your admission into the college and payment of fees

Admission

I didn't apply to any other colleges, I chose this coz it was said to be 1st in the course I took (not anymore). Admission includes providing all the previous school documents and nata score and .Then you just come to college and pay the fee after entering your details into their system.

Faculty

3

The faculties are pretty approachable, but then again wouldn't include all the faculties into consideration. We don't really get taught much, it's all self learning unless you get a really good faculty who actually tries teaching. Throughout the year there are 2 internal tests and one semester end exam. The theory part is fine put the practical exams which we call "jury" or "review" are difficult (this is very subjective)

Night Life

4

I live in a hostel (6:30-9:30) and have a curfew so I don't know much about nightlife, but the college is surrounded with places to eat . Yeah the locality is safe to roam around at night. Sultan, wokchow, milano, glens, truffles, etc. are few good places

Other Applied Colleges

PES University - [PESU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Because I had already got into Ramaiah

Admission:

The admission procedure is not tedious. After plus 2 and appearing for JEE 2 or NATA exams, candidates have to apply with that scores. After screening they will be called for interview. For validation purposes, all the original certificates will be scrutinized.

Remarks:

This is a very good College in terms of education and co-curricular activities. The events hosted in the College and the workshops are almost always paid for so it is hard if you don't have pocket money with you always.

Admission:

I applied to the college based on my score in the National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA). I also appeared in the JEE Main paper 2. However, the NATA score been good then JEE Main paper 2 so I said for the NATA counselling. I was allotted a seat in the institute in spot counselling. After the grant of the admission I was called to the campus to complete the procedural formalities for admission. I opted for the institute because it is one of the top institute for architecture studies in Mysore.

Remarks:

The Architectural education scene is still a work in progress, and the quality changes dramatically in a short period of time and hence the relevancy of my remarks here are questionable., Management has changed recently, the University of Mysore has taken over, and it brings bigger resources, better integration with other university facilities and it's government-like administration with it's pros and cons. It would be wise to personally visit the facilty.
