Course Curriculum Overview

3

1. The course is medium rated hard with fast paced teaching and frequent exams and quizzes. 2. The profs still use not-so-updated methods of lectures like writing on blackboards and presenting slides and just reading them out loud. 3. Also, the equipments like projector, mics, computers, are maximum times not-in-a-working condition. 4. Recorded lectures facility is also not available. 5. The question papers are repeated formats of previous years and sometimes the profs make it very hard. Although, it's manageable to pass.

Internships Opportunities

4

The internships opportunities are quite low in chemical branch as compared to other branches but still opportunities are there for students getting offers, provided they learn other skills along with their respective courses.

Placement Experience

4

1. The placement scenario for the year 2024-2025 was quite decent. But, it still needs improvement. 2. The highest package was approx. 50 LPA and avg. was around 12 LPA. 3. The scenario of our department (chem) was that around 58% percent of eligible students got placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The list of all my payments till now: 1. 1st Semester+Admission fee= ?1,96,500 2. Hostel Fees= ?35,000 3. 2nd Semester+Hostel fees= ?1,81,500 4. Mess Dues= ?19,530 So according to my estimates 1. 1st year Total Fees= ?4,32,530 2. Total 4 yrs B.Tech fees= ?16,38,710 Now talking about Scholarship facilities 1. The clg has only one prominent scholarship scheme named G.P.Birla Scholarship which is distributed on grounds of a) Merit cum need b) Merit 100% c) Merit 50% d) JEE and GATE e) Others 2. Secondly, I would like to highlight the fact that lack of information is prevalent regarding scholarship facilities in the institute which is really concerning. 3. Thirdly, the accessibility of availing the scholarship is really minimal if you does not belong to any category and also if your family income is more than 8 LPA.

Campus Life

4

(1)The fests include 1. PANTHEON by LEO Club (usually held in september) 2. DEEPOTSAV by LEO Club (in november) 3. AAGMAN by ROTARACT Club (in january) 4. BITOTSAV by all clubs (in march) (2)The library has vast book collections and also provides online access to students. (3)Talking about sports facilities, there are two indoor badminton courts, one football ground, one gynasium, 3 to 4 basketball courts, a volleyball court in the sports complex.

Hostel Facilities

1

The hostel for girls (mainly Hostel 8 which is alotted to freshers) (1) is not spacious at all. (2) only one study table can be accomodated in a two shared room. (3) the washrooms lack modern and new equipments. (4) the cleanliness is also average. Huge improvement is needed. (5) Water is also not-so-good-quality. (6) Mess food is average and menu needs addition of more varieties of dishes.

Admission

Simply, this question's answer is that BIT Mesra is a renowned institute and has an established name in the society. The admission in BIT is strictly on basis of JEE Main score for B.Tech courses. And, you have to score decently well in JEE to take admission in the institute.

Faculty

4

1. The faculty members ratio is like sufficient which is quite appreciable. 2. The interactions with the faculties is also pleasant. Till now, I have got all the good profs and haven't noticed any rude profs( except one or two, which is normal). 3. Talking about exams, in a semester there is -Quiz of 10 marks -Mid sem of 25 marks -Again, Quiz of 10 marks -Assignment of 5 marks -End sem of 50 marks So, total of 100 marks in each subject. 4. Coming to grading system 90-100 A+ 10 80-89 A 9 70-79 B 8 60-69 C 7 50-59 D 6 40-49 E 5 0-39 F 0 This is absolute grading system but with respect to relative grading system there will be some changes in the final grades. Talking, about strictness of awarding, the labs awards grades relatively strictly but the theory subjects are comparatively chill. The number of students who failed in the recent semester depends on the subject like in BEE, which is harder than the other subjects. But the profs try to pass maximum students.

Night Life

3

(1) Hostel timings- For girls- students can leave hostel till 8pm and strictly come back till 9pm For boys- no time restrictions (2) All stores, cafe, food truck and library remain open till 10pm. (3) Talking about hangout place, the most famous hangout place for all BIT students is at Inner Circle(popularly known as IC). (4) The campus is surrounded by vast jungle and some areas is really dark but the bustling areas are safe for girls till a certain time like till 9pm, after that girls' population in the campus becomes zero as the in-time is 9pm for girls. (5) The nightlife for boys is usually for fun as one of the hostels also contain night canteen.

Other Applied Colleges

Heritage Institute of Technology - [HIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)

I didnt opt for this college because it was not worthy in front of BIT Mesra.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually my branch is Electronics and communication engineering but my major interest lies in development area , i have gained all the skills in my college by my own taking some guidance from the seniors as they are very helpful and supporting. Improvements in course curriculum could be like they have to basically add one more course or any training program to help students for making skills and teaching them for their placements.(apart of the course , i am saying not because i am from ECE department , its common from any branch student)
