Remarks

Excellent college. Ranks among top 5 in country. The location is very beautiful. However jamshedpur is a little offbeat location as it is a non metro city but all the facilities are available in the city.

Course Curriculum Overview

PGD in Human Resource Management at XLRI is considered best in Asia. The course is divided into six trimesters. It is considered to be one of the most rigorous courses in the country after IIM Ahemadabad.

Placement Experience

The placements at XLRI are excellent. Best companies from all the industries recruit from XLRI. The avg. Package at XLRI is 22 LPA. The college also provides internship opportunity in summers for 6 weeks.

There are numerous events being celebrated in our collges. We are renowned for our marketing fest and iimc vs xlri sports meet. MaxI is recognized as best management fair.the ollge also have various clubs which organise events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is on expensive side. It is one of the most expensive MBA programs in the country charging around 24 lacs for the course. Though the college's reputation and the return on investment covers it up completely as the avg. Placement is about 22 lpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

The collge has tie up with all major PSB in jamshedpur to provid affordable loans with best in class intrest rates. The collge themselves dont provide loans but they have multiple scholarships to offer.

Campus Life

Best in class infrastructure. The collge has volleyball courts, cricket ground, football ground, numerous clubs for different cultural activities, indoor badminton courts. The college's management fest is best in country.

Hostel Facilities

Excellent hostels facilities are available. Single room for every student with attached washroom. Comprises all basic amenities. Also have full time mess and a cafeteria to cater to the needs 24x7.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Extremely large and vast alumni network. Alumnus exist in the top positions in all the industries in the world today. The seniors in the collge are very helpful. The batches in the collge are diverse group.

Admission

First you have tilo fill separate forms for an aptitude test called XAT and the institute. Based on the past scores and the XAT score, the institute releases cut off for the GD PI process. Then a single process happens including written ability test, GD and interview. Post that merit list is formed for admissions.

Best in class. Almost all of the professors are world renowned. All The professors are experts in their field with most of them having books and other publications on their name. The collge also have a pool of guest lecturers.

At the starting phase of college , we have a beautiful campus (which is not ours actually , its on rent ) loacted at Namkum, Ranchi. known as JUT campus, but after that things are not good.
Some what I liked the sports culture, but we don't have any sports Club yet.

Dislikes

Placements(actually there are students who are the coordinators for the placement group , there is no any particular advisor or any TPO head is there earlier...now there is one TPO coordinator but things are becoming worst there.
No grounds for any sports, we don't have badminton court indoors, so we have to wait for wind to settle before we can play outside.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually my branch is Electronics and communication engineering but my major interest lies in development area , i have gained all the skills in my college by my own taking some guidance from the seniors as they are very helpful and supporting. Improvements in course curriculum could be like they have to basically add one more course or any training program to help students for making skills and teaching them for their placements.(apart of the course , i am saying not because i am from ECE department , its common from any branch student)

I like my college

Likes

I like their rules and regulation of college.
I like the annual sports, event, and cultural program.
Regular classes, labs, and time to time internal exams

Dislikes

Thing that I don't like is hostal cleaning, mesh food.
I think there is more rules and regulation for senior boys hostels.
From senior boys hostel they pass some comment to the girls

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course is the proper mindset from the class I chose to study btech. The areas for improvement in the course curriculum are more labs to be conducted proper smart classes to be held.

Likes

the greenery of college campus is very nice
the environment of the college is very good
college library staffs are very well behaved

Dislikes

the faculty is not up to the mark , u will not be satisfied by their teaching
student intake is very very less so you will experience less competition
the college campus is beautiful yet very small

Placement Experience:

yes campus placement is offered . the average package is about 7 to 8 lakhs in C.S.E , the placement rate is about 90% for which above 7.5 CGPA is required . The placement rate for E.C.E and E.E.E are also decent .

College and my life as different aspects

Likes

The cleaness and the professor of the college and the campus
College has provided different uniform for the different departments
All departments have their own class and building all the labs are provided their for practical

Dislikes

College didn't have a proper regulation for all departments
College didn't conduct class every day or it didn't have a proper schedule and students are also not interested in classes
I think college have to provide scholarship for all categories and same for all the departments

Course Curriculum Overview:

The professor of the college aree well qualified but the regulations are very low the teaching process is good but the classes are not continuous and the students are not interested their are very less department which hav their proper schedule and in my major paper class are only proper but the AEC papers and minor paper never conducts a single class for students

Lack of water filter instead we have to pay for water
Lack of canteen ( common ) for boys and girls
Lack of coordination between different departments

Course Curriculum Overview:

The current mode of our curriculum is CBME based that is competency based which has lessen the quantity of syllabus of mbbs course . This made the work of professors easy and the we as a students easily understand any topic and is easy for us in exam too .

Best nature of the faculties and their nature is also very humble
Laboratory were too good and much more space
Class were also very very good and hygienic neat and clean

Canteen food was not bad but their amount should be very shorter
Parking area is small but manageable to park the vehicle

Many students were selected in the placements in the last year good good companies were offering and the best thing is to be the college were very helpful regarding to the students placement some companies like Casper pharma etc their pay scale should is to approx 2lakh per annum.

Experience of an undergrad

Likes

college have great environment good facilities needed as per requirements ,college also have good spacious hostels and we can say better food comparing to what i heard from friends of different colleges ,the evening time is soothing and relaxing
a great senior junior interaction culture and memorable friendships letting you forget the world outside the campus, every festivals are celebrated with joy and fun ,from leaving a family to moving to another one you would love.
some of lectures are quite boring but some will amaze you with visionary thoughts ,every faculty will guide you if they see you lagging behind the course ,some extra sessions are also conducted, introducing new fields to think out of the box

Dislikes

things which i wish might get some improvements are sports facilities big grounds for sports activities students encouragement towards co-curricular activitiy, co-curricular activities get more support to come out with glorious and imagining skills.
fests do contain fun but due to time constraints before fests planning of amazing activities becomes difficult thus leading same things going on repeating, absence of good team leaders leading activities plays major role in activity failure and bored
night out time is a small problem, the area close to college is developing hence not having nearby much places for fun and chillouts spending your free time relaxing.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the college is average as during 2023-24 it was recession period all over the colleges are facing placements lags but still college students managed to achieve 22 lakhs+ off campus as well as 16 lakhs on campus placement.The college reached his highest placement of 51 lakh during 2023 ,the average package is 5-6 lakh and the placements percentage are 85 percent for cse students,the students completing 7th semester are eligible for on campus placement drive as well as off campus,some of the prominent companies visited are Microsoft, cognizant, samsung, byjus,infosys and 50 more.I will prepare for gate and after that i will try to get on and off campus placements which i will find better accept the offer.

Remarks:

The reason I chose this college was that it was considered the best private engineering college in Jharkhand. Also, it is located in a city where there are a lot of opportunities for an engineering student that is Jamshedpur, Ratan Tata's homeland. Also, the placement is better than the other private colleges. This year,the maximum package went upto 10 lakhs which is a good amount of money I guess.

Life at XLRI

The admission process was very smooth. I sat for XAT and scored around 90 percentile with my lowest sectional percentile in DM at 73 percentile which just crossed the sectional cutoff of 72 percentile. I got an interview call which I had to select the slot for. Once selected, and online meeting was scheduled, and on the day of the interview I had 3 panelists (all male). The interview lasted for about 20 mins with questions spanning from why MBA to hobbies, interests and some technical questions based on past work ex. Once the interviews concluded the results were announced under 2 months and I was wait listed. XAT was in some ways a tough exam to crack, especially the DM section. XLRI HRM - In and Out

The eligibility is graduation in any stream. The admission process is available on the college website. You have to score good percentile in XAT exam so that you can get a call for the interviews and then, if your interview is good, you can convert your call and secure admission. Now they have started GD PI also, and interview process is no more virtual. The application fees is somewhere between Rs 2500/- and Rs 3000/-. My experience at XLRI Jamshedpur

XLRI takes admission through the XAT examination followed by a GDPI. The overall cutoff for XAT is roughly around 95 percentile. This cutoff is the minimum eligibility for qualifying for the GDPI. The application fee is around 2000 INR and the form generally opens from June-July until the first week of December and the exam is held in the first week of January.
