I like that this college give b tech degree under 500000 for tution fess
Its have a good envirnoment . with classic infrastructure
Teachers are were lovely . and teach us like a friends

Dislikes

i does not like the rule for 75% attendance
we do'not have any game periods or any other activities
if we are participating in any activities we some time we do not get attendance of that lecture

Course Curriculum Overview

the course curriculum is well designed with a mix of theoretical and practical knowledge. the inclusion of industry rlevant sujects like graphical desgin should be added. the curriculum includes project- based learning , internships and industry visists which help students understand real wolrd application of their studies. suggestions for improvement are intrduce more interdisciplinary projects to encourage innovation frequency and timing of exams are well placed allowing adequate time for preparation

Fees and Financial Aid

we pay 13300 per year for tutuion fees .Instead of this we have to pay 500 ruppe for our ERP in which its show all the detials of student and attendence . Its take 2000 ruppe for ptu exam registration and 6000 for ptu exam per semester . this semester ptu have increased the exam fee its goes to 6000 before its was around 4000 .This 4000 thousand ptu exam information i get by my seniors . its take 20 ruppes for indian army per student . NO extra charges for lab .Our college give scharships for merit student

Campus Life

my overall experience in this campus is good as it have good infrastructure and good envirnoment . all type of foods faculty are there . an overview of sports and extracurricular activites its is good

Hostel Facilities

the hostel facility are good like we get 4 time good including snacks . we get milk 2 times in a week but our warden are very strick . we are not allowed to celebrate birthday with friends and not allowed to cut cake

Admission

i like this college over the other college because under 500000 btech degree are completing and included hostel fees so 6 lakh for 4 years are good from other college . another thing i like that it have A GRADE FROM NAAC

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is balanced , ensuring personalized attention. most faculty members are approachable and supportive . the best faculties which i like more is namrata mam . she always help me in studies and other works. i like her because of their teaching style . .while most faculties are good , but few might need to work like mess bhaiya .the exam are conducted 2 mid semester and at the end of the semester . mst exam are the medium and end semseter are comming from ptu .mostly in mst 90 percent student get passed bu in ptu they give mass supply in one subject.

Night Life

the nightlife like in or around our college campus are that it have 4 gym faculty 4 to 5 liberies faculty and study room in each hostel . our college locality are very safe we can roam at night at that but only at 12 am after that we r not allow to roam in campus

Likes

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment
The library is really nice place to study
Lots of hangout spots in and around campus

Dislikes

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Likes

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Likes

The environment of the college is so nice, helpful staff, AC labs for CS deptt.
Canteen and water facilities and park in both deptts
Skilled professional educators and tutors

Dislikes

Distance of travelling coz for me its too much far
Nothing as of now everything was good enough

Placement Experience:

- Limited campus opportunities were available, and most students become eligible from the final year. - The average package was around 2-5 LPA. - after my degree my plan is to improve my employability my strengthening my technical skill in my domain

Big campus and beautiful garden and environment
Aqi was soo good because plants and tree was so much

Mess food was bad but it doesn't taste that bad
If we Complaint about anything college mostly ignore it

From 7th sem students become eligible for campus placements and tata or Infosys companies visited and about 60 to 70 percent students were placed and my plans after getting the degree is to opt for higher studies doing mtech from iit

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times
The campus explorer is also very nice according to me

Faculty is not soo well had a lit bit inconvenience
Hostel mess food is not good at some time
Placement is decent and average as like other collage

Life at CGC Landran

Likes

Infrastructure, most teacher behaviour, friendly students

Gym is provided but only for name, no fame , always full

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The sports and the various facilities that they provide for relaxing
The Library that remains open till 10-11 at night for those who wish to study till late
Great mentors and very helpful teachers who are always willing to help

Dislikes

The hectic schedule and curriculum that the students have to follow.
The lack of certain facilities that would help the students improve thoer personalities
Too much strictness and restrictions with everything that someone wishes to do

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum

Life at CGC Landran

So honestly, I chose CGC Landran mainly because it felt like the most “value for money + safe placement option” out of the colleges I applied to , I had applied to Chandigarh University, Chitkara, Rayat Bahra, and a couple of govt colleges through JEE counseling, and I actually got confirmed admission in CU and Rayat Bahra too, but CGC felt more balanced in terms of fees, crowd, hostel vibe and overall campus life. CU was too crowded and felt a bit like a “factory”, and Chitkara was way too expensive for me, plus their strictness is next-level. I did get rejected from one govt college because my JEE rank wasn’t good enough (my percentile was okay but not that great, only 89%ile), so cutoffs didn’t work in my favour there — basically I messed up my Maths paper. CGC’s admission process was pretty chill: you need to have passed 12th with PCM and a decent percentage, and they accept both JEE Main and non-JEE (direct merit) admissions; most students join through direct merit because JEE cutoff here isn’t very high. Cutoff is not fixed but usually if you have around 70%+ in boards, you’ll get CSE easily in early rounds. The overall admission experience was smooth — counseling, document verification, paying the initial amount, and that’s it. For me, CGC just felt like the right mix of academics, placements, and affordability, so I picked it over the others without overthinking too much....Read More

Honest review

I choose this college because there are very reasonable fees which we can afford. This is well known college in my area which gives the placement to many students that was the best thing about my college. In our college they train the student by taking TPP in this we have verbal, technical, aptitutde. They prepare us for the interviews and this is not done in any other colleges. In first i tried to take admission in chandigarh university but there fees structure is out of my budget. So i choose the Chandigarh Group of College over the Chandigarh University. The benefits and companies are same as the Chandigarh University. The admission process of our college is just that you have to visit the cgc landran website and register their.
