Likes
- I like the college's location as it is based on the prime location of Kolkata and it is very easy to travel to college and then to Railway stations as it is very close to the Sector V metro station.
- y college has very good and capable clubs which has many opportunities for us, they hold non-stop events one after another due to which we are engaged and are always learning something good
- I also liked the helpful seniors in our college as they are very helpful and kind. some of them invited us by their own and shown us the whole campus the first day and are very friendly to us from them.
Dislikes
- There are no hostel facilities available in the college and thus we have to live in nearby PG's and flats due to which we can't enjoy our Hostel life
- The administration is not good and all the information is provided from the CRs of each class and sometimes they even fail to give us information on time
- There is very small play ground in the college due to which we are'nt able to play there and thus we have to go to different playground to different places to play and practise sport.
Course Curriculum Overview
I gave the WBJEE examination to get into this college and scored a rank of 8620 in that examination, as i was an other state student i could'nt get any government colleges so i chose Techno main as this was in the prime location in Kolkata as i thought this would help me build connections with working individuals and the opportunities would be more comparetively. There are 4 CA's(continous assessment) before the semester examinations and the best among the CA's is taken .The semester examinations have average difficulty sometimes very hard and sometimes easy.
Internships Opportunities
No i havent opted for any internship until now as i am in 1st semester only,however i have heard from many seniors that they get good opportunities from the college and many of my seniors are doing internships in fields of WEB development.
Placement Experience
As i am in 1st year i dont have enough accurate knowledge about the placements however as much as i have heard the placements are good/avg and many companies visit over here. The college is infront of Wipro main branch KOlKATA. As much as i have heard many students secured good on campus and off campus placements, one got placed at 23lpa from aiml.
Fees and Financial Aid
I had paid 85000 during the time of admisson which and have to pay approximately 75000 as tution fees for the next 7 semesters and thus paying 605000 as tution fees for the whole course,we also have to pay 2200 as development fees once in a cource time, we have to pay 1200 as semester examination fees. The fees of all the categories General,Sc,St,OBC is same but is only different for the TFW students and they have to pay a total of 218000 for the whole B.Tech course.
Campus Life
My college has very good and capable clubs which has many opportunities for us, they hold non-stop events one after another due to which we are engaged and are always learning something good. The biggest event include Edge from Geekonix and Ahwahan by TechnOtkarsh etc. Sports events are held in campus but as the campus is small, the bigger events are held in booked grounds somewhere outside the college
Admission
I gave JEE and got 93 percentile but in knew i wont be getting any college from jee, thus i gave WBJEE but as i belonged to other state i did get any government colleges of West Bengal. As this was the best college i was getting in my rank I chose IT of this college as i knew this was in the software hub of North India.i thought this would help me build connections with working individuals and the opportunities would be more comparetively.We can get into this college by WBJEE counselling and the cutoff rank keeps varying each year.
Faculty
The student to faculty ratio is on a higher side and the some the faculties are good and approchable however some are very egoistic and non approachable. i would not like to name the faculties .There are 4 CA's(continous assessment) before the semester examinations and the best among the CA's is taken .The semester examinations have average difficulty sometimes very hard and sometimes easy.
Night Life
There are no hostel facilities available in the college and thus we have to live in nearby PG's and flats due to which we can't enjoy our Hostel life. Thus there is no gym available in the college. There is a small cafeteria in the college but very expensive. There are small shops nearby college where we can eat accordingly. There is no night life in the college
