Remarks

Cleanliness is good in the college. It's only the placements which are bad. And the management collects a lot of fine too. The lecturers are friendly and helpful. The college consists of both positive and negative points.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum was not fully updated until our batch joined. The curriculum has been updated and at the same time it has become tough also, since a lot of topic from M. Tech have also been added.

Internships Opportunities

The college has just started to provide internships for students, usually for third year engineering students. Most of which are to be given fees for the internships. Railways, a small company from college and university combined course teaching company gives the internship

Placement Experience

2.5

Jobs for core branches are very bad. But for computer science and electronics and communication branch, IT companies take most of the students studying in the college. But the packages what they get is very less, even for some talented students.

College Events

4

College day, sports day, national level technical fest. All these events are conducted in the even semester. It feels good to celebrate these events because we get to volunteer, take part, get to meet people from different colleges, different branches and different years.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is average amount. Since there are a lot of engineering colleges in the country that charge in lakhs, even our college is not different. It also gets costly year after year. It may be feasible for rich people but for middle class and poor people, doing engineering in a college where you are not sure if you will get a job is worthless.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are few scholarships in the college available for backward classes and minorities. Most of the Christian students get concessions and hence fee waivers. The students who are in need of financial assistance are helped.

Campus Life

5

I am not much involved in sports but I have heard from my friends that sports enthusiasts are supported by the college management and few of them go on to achieve prizes in the university level and state level also.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostel facilities are not very much good. Food is not good. A lot of people have complaints about the hostel food and strict rules. Most of the strict rules are applied on the girls. Infrastructure is not that bad, I guess.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumnis are very helpful. We can contact them for any help. Some of them come back to the college, to guide us in our future choices. They are very approachable and friendly. Most of them pursue higher education abroad.

Exam Structure

VTU is the main university. All the colleges under VTU have the same exam structure. Our college comes under VTU Mysore region, where the corrections are very strict and marks are usually not easy to get.

Admission

I applied to the college through the competitive examination- KCET and got a decent rank.I selected SJEC and Mechanical branch and got through in the first round. I went to the college, paid my fees and got admitted.

Faculty

5

The faculty are very friendly in our branch. Other branches also have friendly lecturers but all the branches have some lecturers who are very annoying and have a bad influence on students. Many students hate those type of lecturers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
