Course Curriculum Overview

4

It completely focuses on the core subjects from the first year itself, which makes you interested in the branch you are studying in. The grading is either absolute or relative which is decided by the faculty. The exam levels are moderate but it depends on the faculty

Internships Opportunities

4

The internship opportunities varies for different branches. Many students from chemical engineering get internship opportunities in IICHE from the 3rd year itself. Students are advised to do projects from the 3rd year itself to develop skills.

Placement Experience

4

The placements are quite decent in chemical engineering. Both core and non core companies are hiring Chemical engineering students, which is quite a good point. The highest package was 64LPA from CSE. Average package is 11 to 14LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fee per semester is 67000 and hostel, mess fee 37500. At starting of joining the college, we have to pay nearly 150000 including all the fees. The fees is same for all the branches. If the income is less than 1 lakh, then you don't have to pay the tution fee but only have to pay hostel fees

Campus Life

4

The campus life is beautiful because of the location of the college and it's popularity. The college conducts 2 fests per year. One is thathva, which is a technical fest and another one is Ragam, which is a cultural fest. There are every types of books in library related to every branch present in college. The library even have weekly magazines, so interested students can read them. There are a lot of clubs in the college which helps students to grow their skills.

Hostel Facilities

3

First year students are accomodated in 3 sharing room. Second and third year students are accomodated in 2 sharing room and final year students live in single sharing room. Mess quality is average for the mess alloted to 1st year students. But it's nice for seniors.

Admission

I chose the college as it is a tier 1 NIT. It is also near to my home and the connectivity is not an issue to me. You have to write JEE mains examination to get admission in this college. To get admission in chemical engineering, you have to score nearly 97%ile and above.

Faculty

3

Some faculties teach nicely, but some of them just read slides in thier PPTs. The exam system is divided as mid semester and end semester. Mid semester exams are conducted for a maximum marks of 30 End semester exams are conducted for 50 marks And remaining 20 are from internals and assignment.

Night Life

4

Gym is a disadvantage here because of less equipments and it is not free. Cafeterias are nice but the only con is that the prices are high. There are no restrictions for second, third and fourth year students but the first year students have curfew from 10.30pm. There are a lot of famous destination near to Calicut like Kochi, Munnar and Wayanad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
