What Students Say
Likes
- The college faculty is top notch. The professors are experts in their respective fields.
- The Socities in the college are very reputable and helpful in developing skills which are helpful to get you a corporate placement.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure of the college is reasonable but could have been better considering that it is ranked as one of the best colleges in the country.
- The strictness in our college regarding functions, fests is a bit too much compared to other Delhi university colleges.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of the core subjects is pretty relevant and updated but the SECs, AECs and VACs are the subjects that are not relevant and time wasting. Apart from that i believe it could me more practical focused.
Placement Experience
The college is not particularly reputed for its placments but still they are decent. Students become eligible for placments in their 5th semester. The average package is around RS.800000 but the fact that not everyone is placed makes this figure lose some relevance. I have no plans of getting college placments
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for Bcom(H) in my college is near Rs.30000. I think it is pretty reasonable and at par with the fees of other colleges under Delhi University. The fees is same for all categories of students. But there are ample number of scholarship oppurtunities available in the college, both government scholarship schemes as well as private foundations.
Campus Life
The flagship fest of the college is held in the month of february. Apart from that college has its fresher parties department wise and a combined one as well. It also conducts farewell functions and diwali melas. The infrastructure is pretty decent but has room for improvment. The college has all basic technological facilities. There are many sports options available to students and practice areas for them are also available in the college itself
Admission
This college was my second preference of all the colleges in India. It is second ranked colleges in rankings of many institutions. My only regret is on missing out on Sri Ram College of Commerce in Delhi and that was i was just under the cutoff marks. That college is better than Hansraj College simply because it is a commerce college and everyone there is like minded. It has some of the most brilliant minds of the country as its alumni.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is around 80 students per faculty member. The faculties are very reputed and experts in their fields. The faculty I like the most is Dr. Sudesh Kumari as she not only focuses oon just the curriculum but also on other publications and case studies. Students are required to give 7 exam per semester out of which 4 subjects are worth 4 credits and other 3 are worth 2 credits each.
Night Life
The nightlife around my college is decent. It is a commercial area so there are many food placces open till late night. There are many gyms as well from affordable to premium. The transport connection is also really good. The locality is also pretty safe even at night.
