NITW Review from a passout

NITW is always famous for Mechanical Engineering department. The faculty and the course curriculum is very good and updated every year with sound knowledge on basics. Few professors used to conduct exams every week. Almost all of them used to give us assignements, atleast 2 per semester.

Students from 3-1 will be eligible for internships and from 4-1 will be eligible for college placements. Highest is for CSE department nearly 83lpa. Lowest is 4lpa. 90% of the students get placed. Also rest of them either opt for higher studies or startups or either have blacklogs.

I have paid 125000 as yearly fee as I am General Category. For BC, and other castes the fee will be reduced accordingly. Caution fees was 1500. Registration fees 15000. And all of the other fee was 5000 per year. Every student is eligible for institute merit scholarship independent of their caste. The top 10 15 students from each department will get full refund of their fee.

Annual tech fest - technozion and annual cultural fest - springspree. Our library is vast and contains all kinds of books, e library, and computer lab especially for studying. All of the classrooms have digital screen along with a white and chalk board. Each department has an association. Other than that we have so many clubs - music, dance, literature, sports clubs etc.

One bed, one table and chair, one almirah are provided. Meal quality for girls is good enough not all days though. Taste wise okayish, but quality is good. Registration process and allotment of rooms is simple and also you can exchange with your friends.

This college is near to my home. I was interested in mechanical engineering as I was interested in physics. Admission process is through JEE Main. The college ranks at 4 in NITs. Mechanical engineering cutoff was near to 24000 for GEN girls.

We have good number of faculty all of them have completed phd in very good universities. There are few irrelevant courses in 1st year. We have 4 exams per semester - 2minors, mid and end sem with nearly. Mostly paper correction is hard and the average grade given per course to a student is 7.

Only JEE mains is required for the admission. Prep was rigorous with lots of physics, maths and chemistry. My preparation strategy focused on chemistry, and maths. Physics few topics like kinematics, electrostatics, eloctromagnetism etc.

We have a street named food street where almost all types of food are available including meals, biryani, noodles, amul outlet, cfd etc. Hostel in timings are 11 30 PM. Famous places are timesquare, metallurgy building, also college football ground who would like to walk. Night life is good but not the best.
