Course Curriculum Overview

Interest in the field of Biology driven me to opt this field. The Curriculum we followed was Anna University Regulation 2004. We need to follow the Anna University Curriculum, and the courses were important ones.

Class Size: 30Course Fees: INR 32500 per year

Internships Opportunities

During those days, paid internships were minimal. However, the college has encouraged me to undertake month-long internships at National Important Institutions (NIIs) I had taken one such internship for one month from the Tuberculosis Research Centre, Chennai (now known as the National Institute of Research in Tuberculosis). I have undergone two mini-projects which were accepted for oral paper at National Conferences.

Placement Experience

From Semester 7 the students become eligible and we get placement drive from Semester 7. Placement Trainings were been offered from Semester 5. Infosys, Wipro, TCS. Nearly 7 were recruited in Infosys. Rs. 3.8LPS 85% Got Placed Higher Education

Fees and Financial Aid

A Sum of Rs. 47500/- was paid every year for four Years. The Split -up: Rs. 32500 + Rs. 5000 + Rs.10000 = Rs. 47500 (Tuition Fee + Book Fee + Transport] Merit Scholarship - Fee Waiver for deserving Students

Campus Life

Genofest - January to March Required numbers of Anna University prescribed Books are available in both lending and reference section. OHP was available. Sports plays a vital role in campus. PEC owns a massive ground space to conduct Zonal Competetions organized by Anna University. We do have PDs with Doctorate degree in sports.

Admission

I have applied in Loyola and SRM. However, I was confused between, Science Degree or Engineering Degree, and a Degree from Private University or Govt University. Later I decided to take a Govt Degree from an Engineering College.

Faculty

We had the required number of faculties and most of them were experienced. Faculty who inspired us include: MRV Sir (First HoD of Biotech), Vasugi Madam, Bala Sir, Sridhar Sir, Dhandayudhapan Sir and P.K. Suresh Sir. Semester Exams. Anna University Curriculum. Our Department since its inception holds the highest pass percentage close to 95%.

Night Life

Being a day scholar, I haven't experienced overnight stay. However, during the cultural and symposiums, I had limited opportunity to access the hostel facility. The rooms are decent and spacious. Canteen and Gym usually continues to top the favourite spot.

Calm and Student-Friendly at DMI College of Engineering

Here there is no gender separation like boys and girls should be seperate and stuff like that.
It is a autonomous college so courses are changing regularly with the shift in education
Here we have relative grading system therefore there is no ranking and easy to get good grades

Dislikes

We have to pay yearly fees not semester wise it difficult for low income earning families
Money is collected from students for all events happening in the college.
There is a rush for collection of fees at the start of each year and unpaid students might face absent issues

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are moderate but i don't know much about other courses but for civil engineering the average placed ctc is 3 lakh per annum one or two students got higer package but most of the students got lower package as a fresher.

Best experience in college

I applied for the Aalim muhamad Salegh college which is in Avadi. In that college I have got ECE department. And parallely I have searched for the CSE or IT department in other colleges. Then I also got PEC with ECE dept then we approaches the college and we selected the IT department.I didn't got any rejections form other colleges which I have applied. There is eligibility criteria where u must secure above 85% to get CSE or IT dept or any other computer streams. There is no entrance exams.
