- There were these Business Analytics with Excel given to us by a Dell in association with Simplilearn, hosted by the Computer Science Department of our college, which was a great leveller.
- The sessions and conference events were taken by some of the big corporate leaders which provided a lot of insights of the corporate world. One such person was Vikas Divyakirti.
- The fests, concerts and any celebration had an amazing management along with free of cost setting u of stalls for the college students which really provides a holistic development for the student along with studies.
Dislikes
- I wanted more sessions and activities in the college. Like seminars from such great leaders and people.
- More extra curricular activities could have been there in college.
- The choices to select electives were great but the option to opt for Data Analytics or Python programming was not provided to us by the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
A few subjects were refreshingly new to learn like Business Applications with Computer, Statistics and Financial markets and Investments, Money market, Public Finance, GST and Taxation. There were half yearly exams mostly in summers and winters. The area of improvement would be to switch to PC's or computers instead of paper pen writing examination form. And strictly include AI related courses because they are more important to learn.
Fees and Financial Aid
The rough estimate is around Rs. 25,000 for 3 years and Rs. 8000 yearly. There are no scholarships but there are quotas for sports, ECA, creative writing, drama, dance, theatre and various sorts of other extra-curricular activities. One has to first select categories like dance, drama, whicheverone wants to choose then upload 5 certificates upto 12th while registering for Delhi University admission and apply for the same. So, I fall in General category and had gotten a 87.4% in my 12 standard and I uploaded around 5 certificates in Oratory and also a few in quizzes, then after all the rounds based on scores came out, then came out a round for ECA students which also has the same cut-off process so I got admission in Lakshmi Bai College in my desired course of Bachelor of Commerce (Honours). (I also had some sports; basically running but they were from 6, 7 & 8 standard so they were not of much use). The certificates applicable were from 8th till 12th. To sum it up, even if you realise in your school itself that you can't be a top-scorer try to cover it up with other extra curriculars and try to go on at least zonal or state levels.
Campus Life
It was pleasant and holistic! In respect to, sports our college has the best baseball and some other sports team and facilities. Also, our college team went to Singapore to represent our college in Nationals.
Admission
I chose Lakshmi Bai college on the prameters of extra-curriculars and my scores. The curriculum was great and dynamic which I really admired. The filling up of preference list is quite comprehensive which is a qute tedious task.
Faculty
The faculty-student relation is great. I really admired Parthivi Khurrana (an ex-professor) she taught us Business Applications with Computer. The exams are pretty easy and most of the batchmates clear them and so is the curriculum. But the course curriculum is still outdated as I feel that technology, coding and more other diverse things could be integrated in the curriculum
Night Life
There were sports facilities, great fests and concerts. Three libraries and also study rooms. The famous hangout spots were garden, grounds and cafeteria. Some of the great spots were also outside the campus.
