Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum covers important subjects like Accounting, Finance, Business Law, and Economics, which is why I chose this course—it builds a strong foundation. Teaching is more theory-focused. Exams happen every semester, usually on time. They’re not too tough if you attend lectures and revise regularly. Overall, it’s a solid base for both further studies like MBA or LLB and entry-level corporate jobs
Internships Opportunities
They offer decent internship opportunities especially if you are active the placement cell or societies. Companies like kotak life , Outlook, decathlon, and various startups offer roles in sales and marketing and HR and finance etc.
Placement Experience
Placement starts mostly in the fifth semester. Company is like KPMG, EY, Amazon visit mostly offering roles in finance, sales, marketing. The highest package goes around 6 to 7 lakh per annum, while the average is about 3 to 4 lakh per annum. Only a small percentage of student get placed directly and being active in the placement cell really helps. After my degree, I plan to pursue law.
Fees and Financial Aid
Admission fees - 17000 to 18000 per year Examination fees - Around 2000 per semester (can vary, depends on no. of practical subjects you have chosen) There is no such other fees to pay. Fees is increasing with slow pace.
Campus Life
Campus life at Dayal Singh College is chill and honestly the societies make it worth it . You literally go to college for them. Fest like Priyadarshini held in March are okay but not super exciting. The library is well stocked with box and has e-library access too. Classroom are basic and could use some tech upgrades. Sports facilities are decent and extra curricular activities are encouraged. Being part of a society is superfun you learn a lot, meet great people and it makes college life actually enjoyable.
Admission
I gave the cuet exam for admission and had applied to top DU colleges like LSR for bcom honours. The admission process for entirely through CUET. Based on your school and preferences, you are allotted a seat via the DU common seat allocation system. The cutoffs vary every year but are competitive, especially for commerce courses. While it wasn't my first choice, dyal Singh turned out to be pretty good fit academically and socially.
Faculty
The Faculty-Student Ratio is manageable, and most teachers are approachable and helpful with doubts. Some faculty members stand out for their teaching style and real-world examples, making classes interesting. Exams happen every semester and are of moderate difficulty—easy to clear if you're regular.
Night Life
Nightlife around Dayal Singh College as pretty relaxed. There is no hostel so most students live in nearby PG, flats or at home. The library and canteen and college gates closed by evening, supposed college hangouts are mostly of campus. Popular spots include the Maggi point write outside college
