Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose the college over the course. Nit warangal is close to my home in Hyderabad. The courses I was getting based on the previous year closing ranks for the course were only 3. Out of these, biotechnology ranked the best in terms of placement and package in the past year, which is why I chose it. So far in 1st year, the courses are pretty useful and good to learn about, but just the amount of information and syllabus that is expected from us to learn is a little huge. The exams are pretty well timed, but I believe there should be given gaps between every exam, at least in alternate days. We don't do it like that in nit warangal though.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internships are given by institutes like iits, iisc and foreign universities. Stipends vary quite a lot- some are paid maybe 10000 rupees stipend, whereas others are unpaid internships that are only research-based.

Placement Experience

4

Students are eligible from 3rd year to participate in the campus interviews. The highest package the last two years was 88 lakhs per annum once bagged by an ece student and once by a cse student. The college has about 80% of students getting placed in the campus interviews. My plans after degree is to get a job in IT or as a software engineer of a decent package in the campus interviews itself.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for 1st years in the academic year 2024-2025 was- Caution deposit- 15000 rupees Tuition fees- 62500 rupees for 1 semester Other things- 30000 for things like id card, registration, admission Hostel and mess fees- 30000 rupees for 1 semester From 2nd year, the fees will decrease by around 30-40,000 rupees. SC/ST students don't need to pay the tuition fees, but just the hostel and mess fees. People with income between 1 lakh and 5 lakhs pay 2/3rd of the fees. People with less than 1 lakh annual income don't need to pay any fees. There is National Scholarships for such people of generally weaker economic backgrounds. Fees is increasing over the years for mess and hostel, but the tuition fees is pretty constant

Campus Life

3

We have 2 annual festivals in warangal- technozion ( technical festival) and sprinspree (cultural festival). The technical festival takes place in the odd semesters/ generally around September or October, and sprinspree takes place in even semesters around march. Sports facilities offered are for basketball, athletics, volleyball, badminton, weightlifting, tennis, cricket, etc.

Hostel Facilities

3

Cots are provided, mattresses and pillows are not. Every room has at least one fan, and every floor has 2 sets of washrooms in the 1st year building for girls. The meals always have rice, chapatis and some sort of curry, sometimes pickle or sweet, etc. there is a special dinner alternatively veg and no veg every month or so.

Admission

I got a very good rank in eamcet, which a state-level exam conducted in Telangana to join the colleges in Telangana through counselling. I was getting cse in all the top colleges in Hyderabad like vnr, cbit, vasavi, and jntu. But the opinion I had in choosing nit warangal was because of the nit tag- it truly goes a long way. Eamcet is not very hard to crack and so, a lot of people were joining these colleges, I wanted to do something just a little better. For getting admission in nit warangal, you must've written jee mains, and gotten a good enough rank either in open category or whatever reservation you have. This course and college choosing happens through josaa counselling. There are 6 rounds in josaa counselling which is used to make a list of our choice of iits(if qualified in jee advanced), nits, and iits. The only exam for students in India to join here is jee mains. Nits, iits and iiits don't have any spare of management quota, wherein you join just by paying money. The admission is based purely on merit in certain exams only- either academic or sports-related, but generally in academics. The overall process of josaa counselling is a bit tedious and there is a very high chance of confusion during the whole counselling and admission process. I consulted with previous students who had joined in josaa counselling, and took a lot of help from youtube videos.

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is about 1:20 ratio. Faculty are very knowledgeable but there are of course some that don't teach extremely well. The best faculty are generally appointed to teach the 'lower' branches I.e., the non-circuit branches. The curriculum is extremely hard and tough, but I suppose that is to be expected from an nit. In 1st year there are no midterms, but there are 2 minors. From the 2nd year, there is 1 minor, 1 midterm and 1 end sem examination. There is generally some marks given to teacher evaluation too- this can be another test, or assignment. The midterm is for 30 marks and the end is for 40 marks.

Night Life

4

There is a gym inside the campus itself, there is a department store which closes around 8:30 pm every day. There's a store that is near the 1st year boys hostel which is open till very late. All students are supposed to be inside the campus by 11 pm, after which there will be a mail sent to your parents if you are not in the campus. The hostel timings for 1st year girls is 10 pm. Inside the campus, there are lots of hangout places- there is Times Square (called TS), near the sports stadium, near the department buildings, near NAB.

Since I wanted to experience learning in a national institute instead of a private college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the course is relevant because we are not just studying theory all the time. Along with regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects and problem solving which actually feels useful. It feels like the course is designed to help us build skills that we will need later not just clear semester exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

Before joining I thought it would be like any other engineering college where we just study for exams. But after coming here, I felt it's a bit different. We do have theory classes, but there are also coding sessions, projects and assignments almost every week. Sometimes it gets a little hectic but I think it's actually helping us learn better. The syllabus feels relevant.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course has been a nice mix of theory and practical work. We don't just sit through lectures all day there are coding sessions, projects, assignments, and hands on activities that make the subjects easier to understand. It feels like you are learning skills that you'll use later. One thing I noticed after joining is that the classes don't feel the same every day. Some days are regular lectures while on others we are working on coding problems, assignments or small projects. That change keeps things interesting.

I think IN-campus Placements are the best thing that this college may offer. This is one of the top college in Telangana so almost every top company gives a chance to this college companies like Cisco, Insfosys, TCS, Cognizent, Accenture and many more. The highest package is 34LPA last year 2024, and the average is 7LPA i think.I think almost 60 to 70 percentage of people get place in the companies.I plan to get place in the top most comnmpany in the Telanagana after getting degree.
