Remarks

Positive remark is the locality, Dehradun is that cool place. The climate, infrastructure, political scenario and everything is peaceful. There's a lot to explore in the Garhwal Himalayas. The valley life here is awesome. Negative remark is about the fee structure being expensive.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Curriculum consists of 8 semesters for our course, 2 per year. Out of which some papers will be online or elective like in almost every engineering colleges. Course material will be provided from the library only, at the time of registration. Every subjects will have it's own weightage aka credit. Curriculum is satisfactory and not that burden for us students. 75% attendance is mandatory.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements are good overall, last year's statistics said a total of 96% of eligible candidates were placed. Not much idea about the average package. College does provides internship for the students, as part of the curriculum. I did my internship from GAIL (India) Ltd and being a PSU, didn't had any stipend. But we were delivered with enough facilities at the firm like accomodation, transportation etc.

College Events

4

Major events are Uurja (Cultural fest) and Ignite (Technical). Apart from this, there would be events exclusively for freshers. A lot of committees under various departments are working in college, and almost everyone have their own events. So, someway or other there will be events taking place in the University. Independence, Replublic, Diwali, Holi and similar occasions are also celebrated vibrantly.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is expensive, I would say. It costs me around 1.3 lacs per semester from first year and reaches 1.8 lacs per semester in the final year. Fee has increased in following years, on an average, it must be 2 lacs appr. per semester (from 1.5+ for first couple semesters to 2.0+ for final semesters.) Hostel fee is also around 1-1.5 lacs per year.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't availed any scholarship till now. But heard that there are scholarships for toppers. I guess the top 3 students are provided by these facility. Apart from this one can apply for Govt scholarships.

Campus Life

3.5

Labs are top-notch, there are 100+ in numbers. There's a MAC block and has facilities like gym, Auditorium and all. Fully functional indoor badminton court, outdoor courts for Volleyball, Basketball, Football and Cricket. And there are two amphitheatres in our campus. So, any functions can be conducted easily.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Am staying as a Paying Guest approximately 2.5kms from the University. Costs me 3.5k per month and have to pay for 11 months per year. Amenities are Single Bed, Cupboard, WiFi, Electricity, Water and Heaters (Attached Washrooms). Food and transportation expenses are extra.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, they are. Alumnus of the University have a network for themselves and frequent get-togethers are conducted and we believe that they keeps in touch. Being a complete ragging free campus, seniors play a vital role in all our academic and extra curricular achievements. Everyone wins collectively.

Admission

Applied for the UPESEAT entrance exam. I cleared the entrance test and was called up for counselling. Counselling was held at Airforce Auditorium (in June), Dhaula Kaun, Delhi. After taking the admission from there (DD of 1 lac submitted), we went to Dehradun in last week of July. Registration was done and the remaining fee was submitted. There was a PEP (Personality Enhancement Program) session first and classes started later on by Aug 7th.

Faculty

3.5

Faculties are highly qualified, most of them having years of experience in this field. It's a very big University having various courses from Engineering, Management, Law, Design etc. So, each and every departments are classified intact and qualified professionals are appointed.

Placement Experience:

In final year of btech companies start coming. Maximum students of CSE and IT get placed. Package is min. 3.2Lacs CTC. Both mass recruiters and startups take part in the placement drive. A good number of students get placed. But maximum students of our college opt for higher studies like appearing for GATE, GRE, CAT exams. Further students indulge in preparation for govt services like UPSC, Defence.

Some faculty are there to taunt students not to study. They only know how to push down and demoralize anyone. One thing I didnt unferstand why faculty play politics in college rather than teaching students.
