Course Curriculum Overview

5

Aspects such as modern day relevance of media and the job versatility even outside of it influenced my choice to take this particular course. The curriculum prepares you for real world scenarios wonderfully by introducing extracurricular and practical learning techniques The exams are periodical and planned, with their difficulty being completely matched to all that semesters covered curriculum.

Internships Opportunities

5

DME offers internships from D&P, Dynamite News, PTI and more. The internships are more often than not unpaid, with students still occassionally landing paid roles. The internships are generally in print, electronic and other categories of media.

Placement Experience

5

Students become eligible for placement during their final year of college. DME offers several different companies that it has tie ins with for placements to students such as Gadgets 360, Aaj Tak, Myntra, PTI and D&P. 70-80% students get a good placement package. My personal plan following graduation is to pursue my higher education in correspondence with employment.

Fees and Financial Aid

The approximate fees is 1.2 lakhs, same goes for the management quota. All fees are inclusive and there is no hidden fees. The initial payment generally includes all of the above other than the VAC fees, which is for value added course.

Campus Life

5

DME has to main annual festivals, Aloha and Vritika. They are huge, immense festivals featuring hundreds of events, stalls, participants and competitionss, taking place during February and November respectively. There are many other events as well, such as international research conference ICAN, frequent speaker events and more. There are multiple student societies and clubs featuring sports, debate, production, dance, music, theatre and art.

Admission

I chose this college when I came to find out about it when I was looking for different UG BJMC courses. I decided to go for this particular college not only for its infrastructure facilities and everything else I saw but also because of its affiliation to Indraprastha University. I did not seek to many other colleges after that because all the others I did apply to, were too expensive, not too relevant or had sharper acceptance criterion.

Faculty

5

The faculty is made up of experienced professionals of their respective industries. They are always incredibly helpful and easy to approach if the need be. The exams are once a semester externally and ince a semester internally. The exams are not easy or difficult rather perfectly suited to the semesters curriculum and learning. If one remains present throughout the academic term, they will pass their exams with ease.

Night Life

5

Most of the college's nightlife happens amongst students off campus and amongst themselves, as college generally wraps up after 5 pm with the exception of festivals and special events. Some well known hangout places outside campus include the nearby parks, food stalls and restaurants.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester students become eligible for internship and jobs related to their courses. Department provides numerous opportunities and offers to students for enrolling in different internships and they help you get that. In bajmc I haven't seen any senior getting enrolled in a news channel yet but they do provide internship opportunities at other companies which may be alright. Most students get placed for internship somewhere or the other. My plans after getting the degree is to get back to news.
