Cambridge stands out for its collegiate teaching model, subject breadth across humanities and STEM, and the Gates Cambridge full-cost scholarship for Indian PhDs. Fees sit within GBP 5,000 of Oxford and Imperial, so choice usually turns on subject fit and college culture.
Cambridge University suits Indian applicants targeting research careers, deep-tech roles or MBAs bound for London and Bengaluru consulting shops, with total investment of INR 90 lakh to 1.3 crore over a masters or MBA against a median MBA salary of INR 140 lakh three years out. The two-year UK Graduate Route visa gives Indian graduates a clean post-study runway to convert full-time offers.
Cambridge is not the right fit for applicants seeking large practice-based cohorts, low fees or a metropolitan lifestyle; the small city, formal supervision system and full-sticker fees can wear on some students. Imperial College London offers a similar STEM tier with faster London hiring access and a slightly leaner overall cost.

- Fun extracurricular activities and college life - such as sports, MBAT, debate clubs, and formal dinners
Dislikes
- Balance between academic and non-academic endeavours. While we were encouraged to not focus al our time on studies and told to spend time networking, the academically rigorous nature of the course often clashed with such aspirations.
Campus Life

- Collegiate system provides a unique communal experience. Each college is a mini society within Cambridge; addressing different needs based on academic rigour, gender, age, etc.
- Global Exposure from around 100 countries.
- Chance to work under top computer scientists.
Dislikes
- Short terms. Each term is only 8 weeks long.
- Each week starts from Thursday for an odd reason.
- Workload can overwhelming you. In the first term, I wrote 2 essays, each 1500 words long and reading 4 papers per week. In the second term, I read at least 3 papers per week, and writing a 1000 word review while doing my research.
Campus Life
- The University of Cambridge comprises 31 colleges, some as old as 700 years and as new as 50 years. Each college has its student body, bar, gym, library, and associated culture. Colleges are like mini socialites within Cambridge, catering to different aspects of student life, like Newnham, which is an all-female college, while Wolfson is a mature college allowing only 21-year-old students. Some colleges are heavy in certain subjects due to their student representation. Churchill is more Computer Science heavy due to proximity with the department, while Trinity college is Math heavy due to the influence of Sir Isaac Newton.
- There are several clubs for extracurricular activities at Cambridge. you have college-wide clubs and university-wide clubs, ranging from wine tasting to motor sports.
- Socialising with other colleges is a major part of university life. You can attend college events through your friends belonging to certain colleges, for example, King's and St John's. Or it could be open, like in Wolfson or St Edmund's. You can also attend formal dinner swaps, where two colleges exchange their students during a formal dinner. At the end of the academic year, each college hosts their annual grand party, called May Balls, which used to be held in May but now is hosted in the last week of June.

Campus Life
Many events are organised by the different departments of the university and these include concerts, speeches, etc. These are simply awesome and provide a new experience every time. We also get opportunities to meet people having remarkable contributions to the field of literature and language and it's always a pleasure meeting them.
Overview
One of the best undergraduate law programs in the world. I appreciated the world-class teaching and the professors who were at the leading edge of their subjects.
Overview
It's prestigious and this means that graduates often enjoy excellent job opportunities. It's hard to get into (interview process, high grades, etc.) so the need to work hard to get in was a source of motivation when I was studying for my A level exams.
Fees
?9250 a year for UK students, though most people are eligible for a student loan to help them fund the costs. Most people live in college residence and the cost of accommodation varies according to where you stay - usually less than $2000 a term. Events like formal dinners do cost money, though not a lot, usually about $15 for a 3-course meal, which I find very reasonable. May Ball tickets almost always cost over $100 which I think to be extortionate.
