As per my rank I got mechanical branch in NIT JAMSHEDPUR.also the NIT JAMSHEDPUR PLACEMENT RATE is good.so I decided to take admission in NIT JAMSHEDPUR.also the college has good NIRF ranking.I am from the mechanical engineering branch. Placements of the mechanical branch are very good. Almost all the students got placed in decent companies

The infrastructure and placements are excellent, but the faculty are not up to the mark. Jamshedpur is in industrial area. So we can get internship in different industries.The nirf ranking of this college is in top 70.Also this college has very much reputation.

I'm absolutely satisfied with our college. I had a lot of exposure and great experiences here.Placements in our college were good. Almost 95% of the batch got placed.The infrastructure of our college was good. However, it was not that great when I joined here.

MHRD rank of NIT Jamshedpur is lower. However, placements are very good as compared to other NITs like NIT Durgapur and NIT Patna.
Everything is good in our institute except teaching standards of professors.

Amazing college with worthy placements. I chose this course because it is most demanded in the industry in today world and I was really interested in Chemistry during my school days.Course was really good and I don't think any improvements is needed in the course.

Placements are much better than other NITs, also you'll love the college life here.Approximately 95% percent of the students get placed. I chose this course because I wanted to be a software engineer and this was the best college which I was alloted on the basis of my entrance test result

My friend recently graduated from NIT Jamshedpur. Here is her review.
Location: The campus is located in Adityapur, surrounded by industries. It is a bit away from Tatanagar Railway Station. Since Jamshedpur doesn’t have an airport the best way to reach the campus is from Ranchi via NH-33.
Infrastructure-wise: Both the hostels and the computer centers are revamped. The main buildings of the campus are still under further development but are expected to be in maintenance soon. However, the mega hostels, known as J & K, are an enhanced sight of the campus.
Academics
- The quality of professors or the methodology of their teaching is quite not up to the mark. Few professors of the institute somewhat still follow the old pedagogy and are sometimes not cooperative. On contrary, the newly appointed Ad-hoc faculties are supportive and are willing to guide students.
- Students of the institute perform well in competitive examinations. Many made it to IITs, IIMs, or various international institutes as well.
- The Central Workshop and laboratories, substantially Fluid, Thermodynamics, and Metallurgical are not quite well maintained.
Placement Reports:
A few major recruiting companies are (in respective branches) as follows.
- CSE: Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle
- ECE: Amazon, Oracle Finance, Wipro, Mahindra Comviva
- EEE: Tata Steel, JSW Steel, L&T, BPCL
- ME: Tata Motors, L&T, Tata Steel, BPCL
- MME: JSW Steel, Vedanta, Tata Metaliks, Tata Steel
- CE: Simplex, L&T
- PIE: Tata Hitachi, JK Tyre, JK Paper, Tata Motors
FIITJEE, Rao Academy, Career Point, etc, are examples of coaching institutes that recruited as well. The highest package received was 30 LPA while the average salary was 12 LPA
Extracurricular Activities:
The TechnoManagement fest, Ojass, and Cultural fest, Culfest are the major events of the institute. There are several automobile teams as well, like Team Phoenix, the aircraft team; Team Rays, the hybrid car team and Team Daksh, Off road car team.
