Should you pick B.Com (Professional) at Christ University?

This course suits Commerce or Science students who want a finance career and plan to add CIMA later.

Pick it if:
You want a finance or audit job: Deloitte, KPMG and Accenture are among the companies that hire graduates of this university on campus.
You plan to take CIMA later: some CIMA papers are covered inside this course, so you do not sit for those papers again.
You are in Class 12 now: apply in Selection Process I, because its result comes before your board exams.
You want pay that is rising: the median pay for 3-year UG courses here went from INR 4.80 LPA to INR 5.36 LPA.
Skip it if:
You want placement data for this course alone: the university shares placement data only for all 3-year UG courses together, so ask the department.
You want a low fee: the full fee of INR 7.94 Lakhs without hostel is more than a year of the median pay.
Your Class 12 stream is Arts: you cannot apply, because this course takes only Commerce or Science students.
You need a hostel room for sure: the hostel has its own application, so a seat in the course does not give you a room.
Counsellor's advice
If your stream is Commerce or Science and you have 60%, apply in Selection Process I. Pay the fee only after you read the refund rules on the admission portal.

FAQs on Christ University B.Com (Professional)

Straight answers to what students ask before they decide.

Is B.Com (Professional) at Christ University worth the fee?
It is worth it if you want a finance career and plan to use the CIMA link. The full fee without hostel is INR 7.94 Lakhs, and the median pay for the university's 3-year UG courses was INR 5.36 LPA for the Class of 2024. So the fee is more than a year of that pay. If a loan will pay the fee, check the EMI tile in the fee block before you decide.
What job will I get after this course?
Most commerce graduates here start in finance, audit and business roles. Deloitte, KPMG, Accenture, HSBC and Amazon are among the recruiters on campus. The university shares placement data only for all 3-year UG courses together, so ask the department how this course placed before you join.
Who should not take this course?
Skip it if your Class 12 stream is Arts or your marks are below 60%, because you cannot apply. Also skip it if you want a low-cost degree, since this course costs INR 7.94 Lakhs without hostel. If you have no plan for CIMA or another finance exam, a general commerce degree may suit you better.
Is this course better than the regular B.Com at Christ University for me?
Pick the Professional course if you plan to take CIMA, because some CIMA papers are covered in class. Pick the regular B.Com if you are not sure about a professional exam. Ask the admission office for both fee letters and both course lists, and compare them before you choose.
Is this course good for higher studies?
Yes. Many 3-year UG graduates here go on to study more, and 2,039 did so from the Class of 2024. The degree lets you apply for an MBA, an M.Com or a finance course like CA, CMA or CS. If you plan a master's abroad, keep your semester marks high from the first year.
Should I apply in Selection Process I or wait for a later round?
Apply in Selection Process I if you are sure about this course. Its test and interviews are expected in Dec 2026, and the result comes before your board exams. If you wait for a later round, fewer seats may be left, so do not hold back till the last round.
Is 60% in Class 12 safe to get a seat here?
No. 60% only lets you apply. The entrance test, the skill assessment and the interview decide the seat, and the university does not publish a cutoff. Prepare for the test and practise speaking about your subjects and goals before the interview.
Will I get a placement after this course?
Most students who sit for placement get a job, but it is not certain. Across the university's 3-year UG courses, 55% of the Class of 2024 was placed and many others chose higher studies. Register with the placement cell on time and keep your marks strong, because companies set their own marks rules.
How do I get admission to this course?
Apply online on the admission portal and pick a selection round. You then write the entrance test, attend a skill assessment and face a personal interview. If you get a seat, pay the fee by the date on your result, or you lose the seat.
What is the full fee for this course?
The full 3-year fee is INR 7.94 Lakhs without hostel. With the lowest hostel room it comes to INR 9.44 Lakhs. The fee block above shows both totals, and the toggle there adds the hostel cost for all three years.
Can I pay the fee in parts?
Yes. The university lets you pay the fee in parts when you ask for it. Ask the accounts office about part payment when you take the seat, and keep the receipt for each part you pay.
What scholarships can I get?
You can apply for the financial assistance scholarship if your family income is low, and it can cut up to 50% of the fee. The merit scholarship gives back 10% of the fee for strong marks, and the Central Sector Scheme pays INR 12,000 a year. Use the scholarship calculator above to see which ones fit you.

Does Christ University Bangalore offer placements for Law courses?

Vipul MishraLLM in Intellectual Property and Trade Law from Christ University (2016 - 2018 Batch)

SLCU Christ University is one of the best private Law colleges in India. SLCU Law ranking by IIRF is 16 out of 50 in India in 2024 and it was ranked #17 out of 70 by India Today in 2023.

I did my LLM in Intellectual Property and Trade Law from SLCU Christ University in 2018. I can say it is one of the top private universities to do LLM courses because of its education Quality, teaching methods, etc. SLCU offers decent placements with lucrative offers and high ROI. The Department has a seperate placement cells which guides and trains students for placements, how to face Group discussions for interviews, etc. Right from the final semester SLCU's active placement cells starts teaching students; how to sit for the interview, to talk and negotiate for high package, building an attractive CV, etc. The average CTC package when I completed my graduation at SLCU Christ University was between INR 4 - 7 LPA and for sure it is above INR 7 LPA these days. Luthra and Luthra, S&R Associates, Khaitan & Co., Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and AZB & Partners are some top recruiters in SLCU for LLM graduates.

Is pursuing LLM at School of Law, Christ University expensive?

Pursuing a LLM course from SLCU Christ University Bangalore at a fees of INR 2.50 Lakhs is not expensive as per my perspective. For financially weaker students, SLCU Christ University Bangalore also provides Education Loan and many scholarships. I myself was one such user to get Scholarships from Christ University. Scholarships at SLCU are offered based on academic results of a student during LLM course. When compared to other colleges offering LLM and the Education Quality and facilities offered at Christ University, fees is reasonable.

Can I pursue LLB from Christ University without BBA or BA?

Rohan TiwariLLM from Christ University (2016 Batch)

No, you cannot pursue LLB from Christ University without BBA or BA. My name is Rohan Tiwari. I have completed an LLM from Christ University. This is the same question that I had before.

Christ University, Bangalore offers different law courses including integrated LLB and LLM. School of love Christ University does not offer a direct LLB course. Candidates wishing to pursue LLB course must have to complete 10 + 2 or any Bachelors Degree for minimum 3 years. One cannot opt LLB without any prior Bachelor's degree. But if anyone likes to do only LLB then they have to spend 1 year extra which means that if someone has intentionally or unintentionally completed a 3-years degree course like BA, BCom, BBA, etc. then one can pursue a 3 years LLB course. So I have done BA Hons from Pune University but due to the transfer of my father, we relocated to Bangalore and later on I got interested in Law studies so I opted for a 3-years LLB course at Christ University. I spent 6-years for BA and LLB courses. So according to my experience it is better to pursue integrated LLB courses with BBA / BA or BCom, etc.

I have completed my MBA from Christ University. I have good connections with Christ University, and they call me for counseling and mentoring the current MBA batches. Mostly I come across the question of whether science graduates can pursue an MBA at Christ University.

First of all, candidates who wish to get admission into Christ University must be well acquainted with the eligibility criteria set by the University for MBA admission. Aspirants must complete a Bachelor's degree in any stream with a minimum aggregate of 60%. In addition to that, they must qualify MAT / CAT / CMAT / XAT / GMAT / GRE / ATMA. Finally, shortlisted candidates are called for GD/ PI and document verification.

You are eligible for MBA admissions at Christ University Bangalore with a Bachelor’s in any stream, as long as you fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria.

Do I need Work Experience to be selected by Christ University for an MBA?

Shahzad KhanMBA Human Resources Management from Christ University (2017 - 2019 Batch)

As a Christ University student, I would like to answer this question for you.

I have completed an MBA in Human Resources Management from Christ University in 2019. As per my knowledge, experience plays an important role in MBA admission into any top College/ University like Christ.

MBA Admissions at Christ University are entrance-based. Aspirants must qualify an MBA entrance and face GD PI rounds to get admission. For some MBA specializations and Executive MBA, one may also be asked for a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in the relevant field.

After my bachelor's, I started working in a 4-star hotel and took a break from my studies. There I worked for 2 years and gained important knowledge and skills. I was given preference over other candidates because of my work experience.

This is how work experience plays a role in MBA admissions at Christ University.
