Ans. Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai conducts admission on the basis of the Central admission process (CAP) conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). ICT offers courses for engineering at the UG, PG, and Ph.D. levels. Eligibility Criteria: Candidates are required to be national citizens of India with successful completion of 10+2 board examinations with science and maths for UG courses. Candidates belonging to the general category are required to score at least 50% in their boards while those belonging to scheduled castes or tribes are required to have at least 45% in their boards. Maharashtra candidates have special reservation provision as well. For PG courses, students are required to be Indian Nationals and have completed a degree in any of the science fields. They are required to score a minimum 55% aggregate score from a recognized institute in India. Admission Process: The total seats available for UG courses are divided into two parts, i.e. 70% seats are reserved for Maharashtra candidates and 30% seats are reserved for All-India Candidates. The selection for the 70% seats is done on the basis of the merit list of MHT CET. The rest 30% of seats are occupied by students who have appeared for JEE mains and secured a ranking within the cut-off. Cut-offs: The cutoff required for engineering branches in 2019 was as follows. Course Name General Category Polymer Engineering and Technology 20000 Food Engineering and Technology 35000 Pharmaceuticals Chemistry and Technology 50000 Surface Coating Technology 50000 Oil, Oleochemicals and Surfactants Technology 75000 Dyestuff Technology 98000 Fibers and Textile Processing Technology 118000 Application Process: Students can fill out the application form through online or offline modes. They are required to give a registration fee of Rs 800 for the general category and Rs 600 for the reserved category through an online payment or demand draft to complete the application process. After admission, students are required to submit their real transcripts of board certificates to the institute. The application process usually starts around January and final admissions are declared by the month of June.Read more

Ans. Institute of Chemical Technology has received an A++ accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council as well as the Ministry of Human Resource Development. It is now an autonomous university. It has been claimed to be the 18th best institute for Engineering by NIRF rankings. Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune is a research-intensive institute. It claims to be more efficient than IITs in providing the right direction towards research. It is one of the most premium institutes of India established by the government. Courses: Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai provides courses in B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Pharm, Bachelor of Chemical Engineering, and Master of Chemical Engineering as a specialization. IISER, Pune provides very limited courses. Their main focus is on providing a Bachelor’s of Science degree, Integrated B.S + M.S, Integrated Ph.D. program, and an independent Ph.D. program. Admissions: ICT, Mumbai provides the provision for online as well as offline admission. B.tech admissions are done on the basis of MHT CET or JEE mains score. M.Tech admissions are conducted on the basis of GATE score or other relevant scores. IISER only provides an online method of the application procedure for all its courses. Students are required to appear for IISER Aptitude Test or IAT which is considered more than JEE mains. Students are selected based on merit and cut-offs. Campus: ICT has 3 campuses and each campus is 16 acres each. It provides a feel of the corporate world to the students and provides all facilities in their few buildings. IISER provides state-of-the-art research facilities with dedicated computer labs and excellent IT infrastructure. They also have e-classrooms with one of the best internet connectivities in India. They also have an online and offline library that can be accessed 24/7. Placements: ICT Mumbai: It has a placement record of 90% placements. Major employers include BPCL, Pidilite industries, Johnson & Johnson, TATA Power, Nerolac, etc. The highest package offered was 18 LPA with the average being 5 LPA. IISER: It only provides placement opportunities to Masters and Doctoral degree students. IISER graduates usually get placed into the top engineering and research companies in India. They also get offers from the government to work on nationalized projects. Thus, IISER seems to be a better institute but it is very hard to get into. ICT, on the other hand, is a premier institute and provides ample amount of placement opportunities. Finally, it all depends on the student and their area of interest.Read more

In ICT, you will enjoy more than any other college because our college conducts Asia's biggest chemfest named Vortex and many other big events like Manzer, Sorts Saga, Yuvam, etc. The campus is surrounded by trees like mango, coconut, etc. In our college, all extracurricular activities like dance, drama, etc. are conducted, and it is not necessary to participate in any sports. Scholarships like Maha DBT, Asian Paints and Gunvati Faculty scholarships are provided, and other scholarships are also provided by the respective branches. Pharma students can get a scholarship of up to Rs. 50,000, but the students of other branches don??t get much due to the limitation provided by the college. Studen...

Teachers in our college are very helpful, well qualified and have good knowledge regarding the subject. They teach us by showing PPTs on the projector. In the 1st year, the students of all the departments study the same subjects throughout the year. It is very easy to get an internship related to your department. Most of the students do internships in 2nd year. In the 3rd year, you need to do an industrial internship. Overall, I want to say that the faculty members are very good, and you will love to learn new concepts.

I choose this course because it's not mainstream and chemistry was my favorite subject. The crowd is competitive and it helps you to improve your performance. We have tests and fests in our college and there is perfect balance between both of them.

Well reputed Institute with nirf rank 4 for pharmacy. As well for other engineering fields it stand in top 20 university as well. I had completed my graduation in pharmaceutical & engineering background so for choosing the same field for my master is always an added advantage that's why I prefer to take admission in ICT, Mumbai. Average package offered by college is 5.0 LPA. For starting it is adjustable & we get lot to learn. As well as many extracurricular activities also helps to nourish our other skill set.

The students have a very huge potential. However, lack of resources and parochial outlook towards technical education has depleted the quality of engineers produced from the college. The college is below par for a very active student. Hence I would recommend future students to try other options before choosing this college. I would specially like to mention people coming from metropolitan cities. Kindly, avoid taking admission in this college as it will surely hamper your outlook and would not challenge you at all. Instead it would frustrate you over its conventional way of functioning.
