National Institute of Technology (NIT), Meghalaya grants admission to B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc, and Ph.D. programs. The admission to the B.Tech course is done on the basis of JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) and M.Tech on the basis of GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering). Last year’s opening and the closing cutoff for admission to B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering were 10930 and 14251 respectively.
NIT Meghalaya offers courses towards Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Master of Technology (M.Tech), doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.). The Cut off is released in the form of Opening and Closing Ranks. It is further divided into category-wise.
After the candidate meets the required cut-off, NIT Meghalaya further decides that the admission has to be given or not based on his/her performance in the personal interview round.

The highest cut off rank for Round 7 (General Category) 2019 was 59052 for Computer Science and Engineering. It has dropped since 2018 which was 25606. The lowest cut off rank to get admission into NIT Meghalaya is 118565 for Mechanical Engineering.

NIT Meghalaya accepts GATE score for admission in various streams of M.Tech. Currently, the institute only offers a course i.e. M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. Last year, the minimum cut off required to get in the institute went up to 529 for the General category in Round 1.
