Ans. The Hydrogen Energy Centre, located in the Department of Physics, is one of India's leading translational research centres for hydrogen energy. It focuses on hydrogen production via solar energy conversion, hydrogen storage using intermetallic alloys and complex metal hydrides (MgH2), and hydrogen applications including hydrogen-fuelled vehicles (two, three, and four-wheelers), hydrogen-fuelled home cookers, and generator sets. The centre has developed hydrogen fuel injectors and hydride heat exchanger tanks.
