Ques. Which college would be better, IIT, Dhanbad (CS), IIT BHU (Electrical), or MNNIT Allahabad (CS)?

● Top Answer By Ankit Sharma on 30 Apr 21

Ans. In short, if you do not have any particular inclination towards the Electrical branch, then opt for the CS branch any day. This is because, if you belong to the CS branch in any reputed college in India, you have better placements and career options. Regarding the choice between IIT, Dhanbad, and MNNIT Allahabad, IIT holds an edge over the latter. There are two major reasons behind this which are explained below: IIT (ISM) Dhanbad has better placement statistics when compared to that of MNNIT. Just give you an idea, the top recruiters at IIT Dhanbad include Amazon, Flipkart, GS, Microsoft, Uber. In 2020, the max CTC package at the IIT Dhanbad CSE branch was 36 LPA. Also, the average placement package was 13.7 LPA which is higher than the average of 11.47 LPA at MNNIT Allahabad. Lastly, IIT Dhanbad holds the bigger brand name of IIT which itself has many perks whichever industry you step in tomorrow. All in all, it is highly recommended to choose the computer science branch over the core branches as you can grab better job opportunities and a better salary. And for better placement and campus life, IIT Dhanbad is the best choice here. However, if you are interested in the core branch, then go for Electrical at IIT BHU.Read more

Ques. How are placements for Pharmaceutical Engg. at IIT BHU?

● Top Answer By Anindita Kundu on 21 Apr 21

Ans. The placements of Pharmaceutical Engineering at IIT BHU are presently not considered to be excellent but are at a growing phase. There are several reasons which lead to the not-so-satisfactory placement of Pharmaceutical Engineering, and some of them are listed in the key highlights. The table below gives a brief overview of Pharmaceutical Engineering at IIT BHU. Categories IIT BHU NIRF ’20 Ranking 11 Total Fees Rs. 8.62 Lakhs Median Salary Offered Rs. 13.6 LPA Total Number of Seats 80 Cut-off (JEE Advanced) 11691 Key Highlights: Just a few years back, the department of Pharmaceutical Engineering was called B.Pharm. This is one of the reasons why several companies can’t recognize the stream, and so didn’t open their recruitment procedure for the department to date. Slowly with time, there are companies who have started recruiting students from Pharmaceutical Engineering, which is evident by the fact that there are new names every year in the list of companies who have visited the campus for placement. Among all other sectors, the Pharmaceutical industry stands second among the fastest growing industries in the world. In the Pharmaceutical industry, there is immense scope for research-oriented works. So, most students are hired by organizations offering research profiles, and very few corporate jobs are seen to be offered to students. This is the overall placement scenario of Pharmaceutical Engineering at IIT BHU, which is not very good in quality and quantity, but is increasing with time and according to market demands.Read more

The course of Systems Engineering mostly comprises Electrical Engineering subjects. So, students from the Department of EC and IN face some problems in certain subjects like Power system operations, control engineering, electric drives, etc. Other than such courses, most topics are related to control systems, which are simpler topics for EC and IN students. The latest research areas, course overview, eligibility for the department of Systems Engineering are provided on the college website, where the students can have a brief idea about the topics covered. At present, the college offers 12 seats in Systems Engineering. Out of the total number of seats, a maximum of 40% seats are given to one branch to ensure that there are students from every branch. Remarks :

Back then there were no separate exams of JEE Mains and JEE Advance. There were single IIT JEE Exams the exam was in 2 shifts and the score was based on combining both the papers. After JEE score we had to select our preferred order of different colleges and branches. Make sure you put your desired option on top.

Remarks :

IIT BHU is a premium college in Uttar Pradesh. As I belong to Uttar Pradesh, I prefer IIT BHU as my first preference. There are many good and some bad aspects of this college for good. The placement scenario of this college is perfect, and the teaching faculty is also so good, and overall the college is excellent in terms of everything. I don't like one thing about my college because the campus of the college is open campus so that outsiders can move in the college freely and no one stops them from doing this. Admission to this college is based on JEE advanced results. I was admitted to the college in July 2019. The first week of the college is an orientation program in which we are free to walk out the whole campus and learn about campus. Then after one week, our classes had started. As I mentioned, I am a UP guy, and the college is also in UP. That is why I prefer this college over other colleges. Before admission, I research this college on quora and also on the collegedunia.

Admission :

There was a written test called JEE Advanced. I took a year of coaching at Resonance after my class 12th board exams. The syllabus was the course structure of CBSE Class 12th. The questions were tough. Minimum 75% is required in Class 12th for admission.

Remarks :

The Alumni network, infrastructure and faculty of the college is great. It has a wonderful placement. Students need to qualify JEE (Advanced) and sit for counseling for applying in the college. The dates for exams are approximately mid May and the date for counseling is approximately start of July. I used collegepravesh for selecting the college.

Admission :

After completing 12th from Chaitanya i gave entrance test of IIT and luckily qualified in the very first attempt. And according to the choices i filled and my rank, I got Chemical eng. in IIT BHU, Varanasi. Admission process was online. The list of branches were provided and we had to fill them according to our choices. So to get a relevant branch of interest. I chose IIT bhu because i wanted to live in the northern part of india during my college years. I had been living in south for my schooling, so i had this in my mind while choosing which IIT to choose.

Remarks :

I would say College is improving every year. Before leaving the college most of the things improved. Academic stuffs results, fee payments, filing complaints everything improved a lot with time. I would say 2020 and years after is the best time to join IIT BHU.

"Dual Degree Ceramic Engineering IIT-BHU Varanasi"

Back then there were no separate exams of JEE Mains and JEE Advance. There were single IIT JEE Exams the exam was in 2 shifts and the score was based on combining both the papers. After JEE score we had to select our preferred order of different colleges and branches. Make sure you put your desired option on top.

"Perfect!"

I've applied for all top 10 IITs and every tier 1 and 2 branches! I didn't avail any quota, but if you're from SC/ST. This ain't gonna tough for you. Eligible criteria, you should have scored well in JEE ADVANCE! Everything else is available on iitbhu.ac.in! Please refer!

"Best College For Everything"

IIT BHU is a premium college in Uttar Pradesh. As I belong to Uttar Pradesh, I prefer IIT BHU as my first preference. There are many good and some bad aspects of this college for good. The placement scenario of this college is perfect, and the teaching faculty is also so good, and overall the college is excellent in terms of everything. I don't like one thing about my college because the campus of the college is open campus so that outsiders can move in the college freely and no one stops them from doing this. Admission to this college is based on JEE advanced results. I was admitted to the college in July 2019. The first week of the college is an orientation program in which we are free to
