- Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
- Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
- The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.
Dislikes
- We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
- I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
- There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

Class rooms are well equipped Ducts, wifi, smart board. They are big and spacious. The mess food is hygienic and tastes okayish. Library was enough when the strength was low. Now with a batch of 500+ each. They have to allocate classrooms as study area. Hostels are clean and the rooms are well equipped with ducts.

NIT Durgapur formerly known as REC Durgapur is a well reputed college of West Bengal with excellent faculties of well known IIT's and NIT's bakground. NIT Durgapur provides excellent research and carrier options regarding ever aspect. It has a well defined alumni network which helps the undergrad students to fight the immense condition of unemployment that the newly graduates are facing. With an excellent tie-up with CMERI-Durgapur our institute has the best research papers published. With a vast lush green campus students doesn't face any problem.

It is the best for mechanical engineering and it has CMERI beside college and Durgapur steel plant and Jadavpur University, IIT Kharagpur,IIST Shibpur, ISM Dhanbad top colleges gives the motivation to go into that college. which also supports the many other industries near to it and many more to peak into it.

It's a reputed govt engineering college in the country and comes under institute of national importance. Our college has maintained a record in placing students to well known and reputedcompanies. Students all over India appear for JEE main in a number of 12-15 lacks per year out of which only 33 thousands students got chance to enroll themselves in our institute. Most importantly our faculty members are highly qualified and have doctorate degree even from abroad they have a great experience in teaching students for several years. Students from our college get internship opportunities before job and even projects in top IITs, they learn how to work in actual work field beside academic studies.

Good placement,nice environment.The learning environment here is nice and everyone studying can grow to their full potential provided they utilise the benefits judiciously.There is a dedicated club for every co curricular activity and academics are good indeed professors teach very well.The grading system is good

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur
- Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
- Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
- Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
- Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
- Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
- Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
- Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
Overall, NIT Durgapur is a great place if you are unable to make it to IITs.
