University of Calcutta Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

I have chosen this course because i was interested in commerce. My faculty has 40-50 professors. Everyone have either completed their phd on their preferred field or they are currently pursuing. I will be appearing my 1st sem on February.

Though I have not given the term exam, but the timing of term exam sure is good. And for passing I had given the C I A continuous internal assessment test and passing it was pretty easy and seeing the last year's paper and what has been taught passing this term should also be easy

Final-year students are only eligible for placements. Companies like Deloitte and TCS come for campus placements. The highest package they provide you is 300000 per annum and the average package is 150000 per annum which is pretty low as compared to the fees we pay.

They strictly follow the curriculum mentioned in NEP 2020. SXC Kolkata, comes under Calcutta University but it's autonomous so the syllabus is prepared here only. However the subject and faculty are upgraded and nice compared to other colleges. To make a comparison, the standard of the faculty and syllabus is no less than that of DUs.

Final-year students can avail of campus placement. Companies like Deloitte and Tata offer jobs. The highest package goes upto 500000 per annum and the average package is 200000 per annum. The percentage of students getting placements is 35%. I am pursuing Chartered Accountancy as well so that is my plan after getting the degree.

I chose the course as I wanted to go ahead in the commerce line, and it seemed the perfect course to choose along with CA/CMA. Also, the faculty here is well qualified since they all come under Calcutta University, which is very well known for its commerce faculty. Semester exams are held after 6 months along with internals, exams can be passed with ease if studied 1-2 months before the exam.

The department and faculty members are very good and helpful. There are sufficient numbers of faculty members for all the topics and papers on the subject. Their teaching methods are fabulous and easy to learn the subject. There is a great environment for learning the subject.

I chose this course for my passion in trees and biology . There are 7 professors and some qualified guest lecturers. They all are highly qualified. DBT star college scheme is also there in the department. Students capacity for 1st semester is 36 for this department. Teachers are very helpful and audio visual teaching method is there in the class. Teachers use projector and presentation for a topic There are two semesters in every year conducted by University of Calcutta . But teachers take internal test exams before that and the questions are very easy to write .

As a career in economics is highly rewarding and there are plenty of opportunities in this field, so I chose this course. At Maulana Azad College, for every faculty, there are approximately 42 students. The faculties are good enough. It is not so difficult to pass.

Placement are irregular and not so good. You have to do a master's. Only doing Graduation in this field will not help you. I would suggest opting for the NIMCEt or JECA(only for WB domicile students)exam for MCA or if you want pursue MSc. a from a good college.
