University of Calcutta Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

I chose Physics only because I love it. In our department, there are 21 professors against 76 students. Most of the professors have PhD in Physics from renowned insititutes from India and abroad too. Some have even Postdoc from very reputed institutes globally. They are actively doing research in their respective fields. The medium of teaching is mostly english. One gets 2 weeks of break before every semester exam. If one follows the classes regularly, then it is not hard to pass the exam.

In the 6 semesters, the students are eligible for campus placement, the highest reputed are came for hiring in this campus of the college. Mainly companies came like TCS, WIPRO, DR REDDY, IBM, FLIPKART, RELIANCE RETAIL, AMAZON, etc. They totally offered 400 vacancies for job placements on this campus for students. The highest package is offered by companies like 210000 p.a, the average package offered like 150000 p. a. for job profile was junior account in sales, supervisor, manager, customer care executive, etc. Almost 40% of students got placement after their graduation from this college. My plan after getting the degree is to go for MBA studies in foreign countries.

The course curriculum is just like any other college in Kolkata providing the same syllabus and contents but what made this college stand out was its quality of professors and ease of teaching. They are really friendly and anyone would fall in love with their discipline and student-teacher relation. All the professors are highly qualified with some being M.Com, M.Phil, PhD, CA, CMA, and LLM qualified degree holders. The exams were conducted timely throughout and we even had pre-final exams to enhance our preparation.

I choose the arts because I like English subject so much. The student ratio is around 100:100. Our teachers teaching methods are really good. Especially to our education sir. He is so good. It was easy to pass the exam.

From childhood onwards, I had a great liking for reading and writing. Even from school time, I decided to choose English as my subject for further with this. The department faculty is very decent and helpful. The quality of teaching is good and the professors are highly qualified with good teaching skills. The student ratio is around 25-35 students. In my semester there is a total of 20 students while in other semesters the average number is 30. Our college is under Calcutta university which follows the CBCS system of examination which means we have a semester wise exam which is held every 6 months .r

In total we have 5 professors in our English department. And total number or average number of students in different semester is around 25 to 30. The classes are held according to the routine with a strict emphasis on the attendance. We have our exams within every 6months according to the CBCS system of Calcutta university. The exam level is not to easy or not that difficult but yes it's up to the students capabilities on how much he or she can score.

The course curriculum is good and not too different from other universities. The faculty is good and helpful with a good teaching method. We have 5 professors in total, 2male and 3female processors. The average ratio of students in each sem is around 20-35. The quality of teaching by the professors is pretty good. They have a great knowledge of literature which definitely helps the students to learn more efficiently. The semester exams are conducted within a span of 6 months. 2 exams per year but due to the pandemic, the exams were not scheduled as they were scheduled previously.

I opted for this course because along with bcom hons I am also pursuing CA so it would be helpful for me. The faculty of the college is awesome. The way the teachers teach here is beyond words and they all really make learning easy.

Students become eligible for placement from semester 6. The companies that visited were TCS, Cognizant, L&T, L&T infotech, ICICI prudential, Amazon, Byjus, Kotak Life, Houselites, and many others. About 70 percent of students applying for placement got placed. Offers were made generously and students accepted. The highest offer was 5.5L p.a. and the average was 2.4 L p.a. I wish to pursue master's after completing this degree.

The students of Semester 6 are eligible for campus placements. The highest package is 3 lac and average package is 2 lac. Companies like amazon, wipro, bajaj and infosys have visited. Around 30% of the students get placements. I too aspire for campus placements.
