University of Calcutta Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

I enroll in B.Sc Zoology (Hons.) due to my keen interest in biology subject and this college provides has the best faculty for this department for this subject in our college. The teaching is highly educated and specialized in their respective subject field. Most of the teachers are MSc graduate, Doctorate, and Ph.D. scholars. The teaching methods are quite interactive. As my subject involves theoretical and practical knowledge equally we have the chance to go excursions which made it even interesting. Exams are taken on a semester basis. So I think it made quite easier for students to pass compared to the previous exam pattern which was yearly including 2-3 internal assessment. Students have to equally pay attention to theory and practical papers to pass.

I chose BA English Hons because from childhood I had a liking for the subject very much. The student ratio depends according to the streams such as commerce and science has greater student ratio. In my class, the student ratio is 40 students. The academic faculty is very well coordinated. The professors help with every question you have. There are interactive class sessions for everyone to participate and understand their courses. Throughout the three-year course there are 6 semesters, two exams a year. The question is set directly from Calcutta University. The questions are set according to the student education standard.

From the 6th semester, students become eligible for campus placements, and big names like tcs,wipro,pwc etc come to offer placements to the students and the package depends up the students educational qualifications and skillsets.

The college helps each student in exploring placement opportunities by inviting various companies during the campus placement. Students who are in the final year of the program or graduated are eligible for campus placements. Our top recruiters are Yes Bank , Wipro, Lic , Indigo Hdfc Bank ,Bandhan Bank , Abp News. The highest package offered is 8 lakhs per year and the lowest package offered is 3.7 lakhs per year. As per the reports provided by the college around 2400 students have participated in placements from the year 2012-2018 and more than 2000 students got selected by the recruiting Organisations .

I choose B.com(Hons) because I belong to a commerce background and as well as my interest in this field. If I have to say something about the faculty over here I would like to admire the infrastructure of the college is so fascinating. The teachers are very helpful and encouraging. Exams were online due to this pandemic but we haven't faced any trouble as we were well trained by our teachers. Exams were quite delayed.

I love this subject and hence, I chose it. The faculty-student ratio is 3:20. All the students get deserving attention. Faculties are well-qualified and the methodology is supreme. There have been delays in the conveyance of curriculums but exams are not at all difficult to pass. If you have a good understanding of the subject, it is going to be easy.

After Bachelors, students generally aim for higher studies like Masters. Also, they apply for internships, and in 90% of cases, they get selected for internships. I want to pursue Masters after completing my bachelor's.

From 4-semester students become eligible for placement. Haven't got till now as colleges is closed now. 80 to 85% of students gets placement Will pursue higher studies for higher degree courses and will do jo too

I chose b.com Hons because i m doing a professional course CMA with it. The course will be a match and that should be helpful. 36:100 is the teacher: student ratio all faculties are highly qualified. Exams are semester wise and in 1 year there are 2 semesters overall 6 semester exams are easy to pass if you studies well.

Reputed companies like IBM, TCS, KPMG, ITC, etc used to come to our college from campus placement. They mostly used to come in our third year and the package was quite good about 4-5 lakhs p.a. and it could also go up to 7 lakhs P.A. I'm planning to continue my education further and do a master's.
