University of Calcutta Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

The university exam takes place twice a year . Internal exams are also being conducted twice a year by the professors and college. The paper is set by the professors and they are very strict towards the internal examination.

The specific aspects of the curriculum is very good for me. By the course I can also apply my knowledge in projects and also another assignments. So that my working skills are growing up. I think all faculty are good but not all of the teachers come to help. If they can improve this portion I think the faculty is the best.

Every year there are organised many tournaments, functional program,etc.like in this cricket tournament we were the champions.like that badminton,volley ,table tennis many sports are organised.All good but I think all the teachers should participate in this not some of the teachers.

After seventh semester the students are sent for internship to various companies and after that they are eligible for campusing and the college provides 100% campusing and they also guide you for your higher studies

1. Students from last year are eligible for placement only. 2. Big 4, Banks and other big companies like DE SHAW, WIPRO come to college for placement. 3. 80% of students applied eventually get placed.

As far to the knowledge this college is very famous for its academic which influenced me to choose this college and take admission in. The fees structure is also very moderate according to my financial condition.

The semester exam occurs twice a year . Also in a year internal exam also take place twice. The internals exam papers are set by college professors only which use to be very very tough. There are teachers who are very strict during these exams. This college is government oriented which influenced me to take admission here .

Placements aren't super lucrative mainly because you won't land a great job just by completing your undergrad. However, the placement cell is very responsive and tries their best to aid students who are interested in placements.

1. I opted for this course because I thought it would have a good practical work, with good exposure and experience. But this course has nothing as such. The documentary we did was done all by ourselves. College did not help at all. There was a photo journalsm option in one paper but our college did not let us study that. They did not teach anything about photography, no practical training was given. 2. None. The curriculum doesn't prepare us for the real world at all. There is no professional study or activities. No preparation for interviews or real world jobs. Only theoretical and advices from our faculty. College doesn't provide any activity that can help us for the real world job. 3. More and more practical work with the help of college. More exposure needed. High quality software and equipments are needed. Students need a GOOD professional lab. More exciting activities for students. Placement opportunities, internships etc. 4. BAD. Per sem arrives in 2.5 months, too short time

The college has its placement cell for internship opportunities and final placement. The final year students are required to register for the placement through the placement portal of our college paying a fee of 500/-, to get all the required updates regarding placement. Our college has companies (including the big 4) coming in with placement offers and the package ranges from 3.83 lakhs up to 15-20 lakhs p.a.
