University of Calcutta Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

1. I opted for this course because I thought it would have a good practical work, with good exposure and experience. But this course has nothing as such. The documentary we did was done all by ourselves. College did not help at all. There was a photo journalsm option in one paper but our college did not let us study that. They did not teach anything about photography, no practical training was given. 2. None. The curriculum doesn't prepare us for the real world at all. There is no professional study or activities. No preparation for interviews or real world jobs. Only theoretical and advices from our faculty. College doesn't provide any activity that can help us for the real world job. 3. More and more practical work with the help of college. More exposure needed. High quality software and equipments are needed. Students need a GOOD professional lab. More exciting activities for students. Placement opportunities, internships etc. 4. BAD. Per sem arrives in 2.5 months, too short time

The college has its placement cell for internship opportunities and final placement. The final year students are required to register for the placement through the placement portal of our college paying a fee of 500/-, to get all the required updates regarding placement. Our college has companies (including the big 4) coming in with placement offers and the package ranges from 3.83 lakhs up to 15-20 lakhs p.a.

B. A. Ll. B. is the fundamental and definitive degree for law. It is a must for anyone in the field of law. However the degree itself and the curriculum is quite theoretical in nature and doing internships makes us realise that the practical side of Law is neglected in the course.

I choose Bcom course because it gives you basics knowledge about accounting, taxation, auditing, marketing. And the timings of exams are 6 months gap and the course difficulty level are moderate . I don't think about any improvements needed.

The curriculum is designed in such a way that it each and every topic included in the syllabus prepares the student for upcoming entrance examination.with focus mainly on microeconomics, macroeconomics , development economics and econometrics

The course of journalism and mass communication is a very interesting course for me as it teaches how media is involved in our hole society and how it is so much important for our society . From this course I could have many opportunities in future like I could be a good journalist, scirpt writer, director and many more this course is really very important nowadays . Because nowadays without media we can't do anything. But I think this course have more theoritical work than practical I think practical work should be added more .We have 6 semester exams in this course which was taken after 6 months from every semester and the syllabus Is I think very tough .

The placements were provided in some good known companies. The students from semester 5th were given opportunity and were eligible for the placements. Around 5 to 6 companies visited and the offers were of good number of.companied like TCS, Wipro, Bajaj Alliances etc. Highest package was 50000 Students got placement were of almost 40% My plans after degree is to opt for govt. Exams

I had choose Urdu honours in government girls general degree college and the course curriculum was quit good their are some boring topics which I don't like but it's not college fault because the curriculum was designed by University which the college belongs to but overall the syallabus was very good .now I am studying my masters and the previous course curriculum is helping me alot in my current course

The course curriculum was very compact. As my subject was Zoology, I loved the course curriculum including the syllabus. Curriculum is mostly based on the theory and practicals, Field reports, Excursions etc. So we did not get bored throughout the course. No improvements needed. Exams are of 3 hours and mostly Medium to Difficult level.

The course before the NEP came into effect was not that effective .But as the NEP came into effect there will be internships and all and more practical knowledge which will definitely give more exposure in real life rather than bookish and rote knowledge
