USCIS Announces H-1B Visa Registrations for FY 2023 To Begin from March 1; Check Details Here

The US Citizenship and Immigration services (USCIS) has announced the initial registrations for the most demanding H-1B visa for the fiscal year 2023 would begin from March 1, 2022. 

Around 70% of the new US visas under the H-1B program have been issued to Indians since the year 2007. As a result, this year, the H-1B visa registration will start from March and continue till March 18, 2022.

According to the USCIS statement, During the period between March 1 - 18, 2022, interested candidates including petitioners, and representatives can also submit their registrations using the online H-1B registration system. 

The USCIS will assign a confirmation number to each registrations submitted for the fiscal year 2023 H-1B cap, which will be used to track the status of the application. 

The confirmation number will only be used to track the registrations and it will not be used to track the status of the case.

Individuals who want to be a H-1B cap subject petitioner and participate in the selection of the visa recipients are required to register each of their potential recipients using their myUSCIS online account. 

In addition, prospective visa recipients who submit their own registrations (US employers and US agents using their own registrations will be able to create new accounts on February 21, 2022.

Representatives may add new clients to their accounts at any time, but both the registrants and the representatives should wait till March 1, to enter beneficiary information and submit the registration with the USD 10 fee. 

According to a press release, the agency noted that the online registration process will permit the prospective visa holders to prepare and submit multiple registrations for different clients and if sufficient registrations are received by the agency till March 18, then the visa holders will be selected randomly. 

The agency will notify the account holders about their selection by March 31, 2022.

The H-1B visa is an employment based non immigrant visa that permits non-American citizens (individuals from China and India) to work in American companies. 

Every year, the United States issues a total of 65,000 new H-1B visas. Over 70% of the visas granted are to Indians, while around 20,000 H-1B visas are also reserved for individuals holding US master's degrees.
