University at Buffalo - SUNY Buffalo, New York, usa: 1 answered questions

Ques. Which is a better university for an MIS SUNY Buffalo or Northeastern University?

    ● Top Answer By Anjali Selvaraj on 03 Feb 21

Ans. If you ask me to pick between both, you can consider SUNY Buffalo as it is a really good option for students who want to do MIS in a shorter duration. This course will take 1 year only and even ranking or reputation wise it’s pretty good. SUNY Buffalo ranks at 88th place in National Universities rankings and also has relatively cheaper fees. On average, NEU grads earn 73,000-121,000 USD depending on the field and experience. SUNY grads also have a decent salary ranging from 69,000-128,000 USD as per emolument.  Still, both have a very different curriculum. SUNY Buffalo and Northeastern University follow different paths when it comes to MIS, the difference is huge in courses of both the universities. Northeastern University’s MIS program is loaded more with technical knowledge and it relies heavily on programming. SUNY Buffalo with its MIS program relies more importance on management-oriented approach and this is tailor made for people who have a good amount of work experience. Getting into SUNY Buffalo should not be too hard as it has an acceptance rate of 61%. Student-faculty ratio at SUNY Buffalo is 14:1 and the school has 30% of its classes with students less than 20 students. SUNY Buffalo offers 54% of its full time undergraduate students need based financial aid and the average scholarship or grant award is $7,811. Northeastern University offers its MIS program for a duration of 2 years. The fees charged by Northeastern University is $48000 for the first year. Northeastern University ranks 49t place in National Universities rankings. It has a student-faculty ratio of 14:1 and 68.3 of its classes have students less than 20. You can weigh their pros and cons and then make up your mind about deciding which college you want to go to.If you want to get more knowledge about the technical aspects and are okay with higher fees to be paid then go for Northeastern. If you are working professional with a decent work experience and want to have more knowledge about the management approach then go for SUNY. It will give you what you need by having to pay less fees as compared to Northeastern.Read more

My older sister was pursuing her master from this college and encouraged me to enroll here as a degree from this college would change my life and after listening to her, I worked hard and gave my all. I applied to university with a common app that cost me about $ 100.

    Course Curriculum :

The curriculum is very focused on independent work, each student doing at least one design or research project recommended by a faculty member and through this, we get the opportunity to engage in cutting edge research or business product development. Also, many different projects.

I wanted to study in the USA. So I contacted the foreign universities for subjects available for the study and they recommended me to be admitted here. I had to submit a standard application form which they took $ 75 as application fee. Apart from this my high school marks of 9.3 GPA were also included.

    Course Curriculum :

Through a challenging curriculum, I had the opportunity to study advanced economics to improve my analytical and problem-solving skills. I was able to work with my speaking, writing and comprehension skills as the curriculum worked at a high level.

The application form for the university was submitted through the online admission portal of the college and it cost me around $50.

    Course Curriculum :
