Campus

  • The institute’s main campus is 800 acres big, 400 acres of which has been converted to preserved gardens.
  • The main campus is powered by a 15-acre solar energy field.
  • There are over 95 buildings in total in the main campus including residential, academic, administrative etc.
  • For students, there 39 total residential halls with a total capacity of more than 4700 students.
  • The college has in place 28 fraternities, sororities, 26 sports clubs and more than 200 student clubs and organisations. Some popular organisations are the Society for Human Resources Management, National Society of Minorities in Hospitality, Global Business Brigades etc.

Housing facilities/Residence

  • The university has 80% of its first-year undergraduate students living on campus residence facilities.
  • There are 39 residence halls divided into three areas, South Village, North Lake Village and WestLake Village.
  • South Village, for freshmen, has single bedroom, two-person shared and three-person shared rooms. The North Lake Village and WestLake Village are for upper-class men and have apartments housing 3 to 4 students.
  • All housing has basic furniture, laundry, wifi, shared pool and more for the students.
  • It has more than 15 meal plans that can be used either in the dining halls or fast food joints within the campus. Each meal comes with a number of meals per semester or ‘flex’ dollars to use.

Courses

  • The institute offers a plethora of courses for international students including 58 undergraduate programs, 25 masters, 3 doctoral and 13 certificate programs all of which are delivered under 6 colleges.

Scholarships/Financial Aid

The institute provides various awards and scholarships for international students to study in the USA. The average scholarship value for freshmen is 6898 USD. About 68% of the freshmen receive financial aid in some form

International students are only eligible for merit-based scholarships and not need-based state-sponsored financial aid. Candidates can be eligible for tuition waivers if certain eligibility criteria are met.

Graduate students can apply for teacher assistantships or the work-study program. For both, applications are required to be submitted online from the university’s main website. The Federal Work-Study program is open to eligible undergraduate and postgraduate international students. Pay is as per the state minimum wage rate and jobs are assigned on-campus.

Some of the awards available at the university for international candidates are as follows:

  • Latin American & Caribbean Scholarship:
    • Award- 500 USD per semester with benefit of paying in-state tuition fee
    • Requirements- 3.5 GPA or 1130 rSAT or 23 ACT; International students with an F-1 VISA; citizen or candidates of Latin American or Caribbean countries
  • Florida Linkage Institute Program: candidates of certain countries like France, Israel, Canada, West Africa, etc are eligible for tuition waivers at the institute
  • The institute also offers several outside scholarships which can be accessed via the help websites like American Indian College Fund, Scholarship America, U.S. Department of Health & Human Service, U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, FinAid, among others.

Placements

University's Career Development Center has various services aimed towards helping students understand their interests, job choices, internships and more. The center helps students take a complete assessment of their careers keeping in mind the personalities of the students. There are also regular job fairs held where recruiters visit the campus to hire students.

    The school spirit and area is THE BEST!!! We go by 'DUNK CITY' and it's literally amazing. The amount of activities, free stuff, discounts, and events is literally unreal. The professors are phenomenal and know exactly what they are doing.


    Course Curriculum - 

    I love it! There are so many options and choices within each major and even in the general education requirements. Who said college had to be boring? I love that there is a list of all the courses and what teachers are teaching them.
