SNAP Blood Relations PYQ, free to download as a 36-page PDF. The bank carries 21 solved questions from the 2006 to 2025 papers and takes roughly three days to work through, so treat it as one sitting per set.
Every question keeps the year it was asked and the options exactly as printed. An answer key follows the questions, then a full worked solution for all 21.
How the Answer Key Was Prepared
Worth stating plainly, because it is unusual. Symbiosis does not release an official answer key for SNAP, and the question papers we work from carry the questions only.
Every answer in this booklet was therefore worked out by our team from the question itself, not copied from an official key. Each one was checked to land on exactly one of the four options.
Each solution shows the full reasoning, so you can follow the logic rather than take the letter on trust. Where a chain genuinely does not fix a single relationship, the answer says so instead of forcing one.
What the 21 Questions Cover
Blood relations sits in the Analytical and Logical Reasoning section, which carries 25 of SNAP's 60 questions, the largest of the three sections. Relationship questions appear most years.
- Direct chains, where a single sentence has to be unwound from the far end
- Coded relations, where symbols stand for father, mother, brother and sister
- Family puzzles, where eight members and a few in-law clues fix the whole tree
- Counting questions, asking how many men or women a described household holds
- Minimum-size questions, where overlapping roles mean fewer people than the list suggests
The Five Moves That Solve Almost All of Them
Across the 21 questions the same handful of moves keeps working. Naming them makes the section much faster.
- Resolve the innermost phrase first. "My father's son" is the speaker, and reading it outwards gives the wrong answer
- Test the reading that makes the speaker the answer, then rule it out
- Check the gender a symbol or word fixes. It often discards half the options immediately
- Treat "has no siblings" and role tallies as constraints, not decoration
- Remember that uncle's son is a cousin, never a nephew
When the Honest Answer Is That It Cannot Be Determined
Two of the 21 resolve to no single relationship, and both are worth studying. A grandparent link always branches two ways, so unless the question names the mother's side or the father's side, the chain stays open.
One 2025 question makes this exact point. Kawan is the grandfather of the speaker's nephew, but Kawan could be the boy's paternal or maternal grandfather, which makes him either the speaker's father or no blood relation at all. Candidates who force a single answer lose the mark.
Three Questions Worth Doing First
If time is short, start here. Each teaches a move the rest of the set reuses.
2019, direct chain. "That man's father is my father's son." Resolve the inner phrase and the whole question collapses into one line.
2022, family puzzle. Eight members, three married couples. The clue that unlocks it is that one person has no siblings, which forces him to be married in rather than born in.
2007, minimum size. A reunion lists fourteen roles but warns that fewer people attended than it sounds. Building the smallest family that covers every role gives seven.

How to Use the Answer Key and Solutions
Attempt the whole set before checking anything. The layout is built so an answer cannot be glimpsed by accident.
- Do all 21 in one timed sitting, allowing about a minute each
- Mark the answer key in one pass, right or wrong only
- Read the solution for every miss and every lucky guess
- Each solution opens with a one-line quick solution, so you can stop there and retry
Traps These Questions Are Built Around
A handful of errors account for most lost marks here, and several questions exist only to catch them.
- Reading a nested phrase outwards instead of inwards
- Counting a child among its own siblings in minimum-size questions
- Forgetting that married sons imply wives when counting a household
- Assuming a relation must be one of the named options when the real answer is none of them
- Adding overlapping roles together instead of finding the smallest family that fits
For the wider section, the SNAP General English topic notes cover the verbal half of the paper in the same format.
SNAP Blood Relations Previous Year Questions FAQs
Ques. How many blood relations questions come in SNAP?
Ans. Analytical and Logical Reasoning carries 25 of SNAP's 60 questions, and relationship questions usually contribute one to three of them. They are among the quickest marks in the paper once the standard moves are known.
Ques. Is this an official SNAP answer key?
Ans. No. Symbiosis does not publish an answer key for SNAP. Every answer in this booklet was worked out by our team from the question itself, checked to land on exactly one option, and shown with the full reasoning so you can verify it rather than trust it.
Ques. Are solutions included in this PYQ PDF?
Ans. Yes. All 21 questions are worked in full. Each solution opens with a one-line quick approach, then the detailed steps, a tip or common-mistake note, and the final answer. An answer key grid sits between the questions and the solutions.
Ques. Why do the questions go back to 2006?
Ans. Blood relations questions do not date. The logic in a 2006 question is identical to a 2025 one, so the older papers are still worth attempting, unlike current-affairs questions which go stale quickly.
Ques. Can the PYQ PDF be downloaded free?
Ans. Yes. The full 36 page booklet can be read on this page and downloaded at no cost, so students can print it or keep it on a phone for practice.
