SNAP Eligibility Criteria 2018: Qualification, Age Limit, Reservation

SNAP Eligibility Criteria 2018 are defined by Symbiosis International University (SIU).  Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks is the basic eligibility criterion to apply for SNAP. For the candidates who has completed qualifying degree from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Read more SNAP Registration 2018 for Foreign Students

For this year, SNAP 2018 is scheduled for December 16, 2018. The last date to submit the applications with the fee payment is Novermber 26. Visit the official website i.e. snaptest.org OR siu.edu.in to access the appplication forms.

The basic eligibility conditions required to apply for SNAP are listed below:

  • General category candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks
  • Reserved category candidates must have obtained at least 45% marks in Bachelors.
  • Candidates appearing in final year examination are also eligible. 
  • There is no age-limit to apply for SNAP.
  • Foreign Nationals/ PIO/ OCI/ NRI are also eligible to apply.

SNAP Eligibility 2018: Qualifying Exam

  • Candidates from general category who have completed their Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate are eligible for admission.
  • A relaxation of 5% marks is provided to SC/ST candidates.
  • Engineering graduates must have completed their 4-year Bachelors with at least 50% marks.
  • Final year students can also apply. However, admission will be granted only after they score at least 50% marks. 
  • Students having backlogs / fail in their final results are not eligible for admission.
  • International applicants need to obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • International candidates are those who have studied or completed their graduation or equivalent examinations from a university outside India. 
  • The equivalence certificate would be issued by the Equivalence Division of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), the contact details of which are as under:

Note: It is the sole responsibility of the candidate applying for admissions to ensure that they meet SNAP Eligibility required for the course they are applying for. Candidates who have been provisionally admitted can be rejected at latter stages if they don’t fulfil the requisite criteria. Provisional admission does not ensure that the candidate is admitted to the course. Final eligibility of every candidate rests with the Symbiosis International University.

Graduate in any engineering discipline and architecture (B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch) from any statutory/recognized university, except in Computer Science (CS), Information Technology (IT), Information Systems (IS) and any related discipline, with a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST candidates)

A candidate who has completed qualifying qualification from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Master of Business Administration (Business Analytics)

Candidate should be a graduate in any discipline from any statutory/recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST Candidates). 2 Years full-time work experience after completion of graduation. 

A candidate who has completed qualifying qualification from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

 

 

SIIB

Master of Business Administration (Agri Business)

Candidate should be a graduate from any statutory University in Agri Sciences or Agri related discipline with minimum 50% (45% for SC/ST) marks in the qualifying examination.

OR 

Non-Agri graduates from any statutory University with minimum 50% (45% for SC/ST) marks in the qualifying examination with a basic understanding of agriculture and agribusiness and a keen interest in the same are also eligible to apply. Such candidates need to demonstrate their understanding and interest in agribusiness during the selection process. Candidates with relevant work experience will be given preference.

OR 

Non-Agri graduates from any statutory University with minimum 50% (45% for SC/ST) marks at Graduate level and having a family business in agriculture and allied sector will also be considered eligible for admission.

Candidates appearing for final year examinations can also apply, but their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination.



A candidate who has completed qualifying qualification from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Master of Business Administration (Energy and Environment)

Candidate should be a graduate from any statutory University with a minimum 50% (45% for SC/ST) in Engineering / Geology / Economics / Petroleum / Energy & Environment Science / Bio-Chemistry / Architecture. Other graduates with full-time work experience of more than one year after graduation in Energy and Environment sector are also eligible to apply. 

Candidates appearing for final year examinations can also apply, but their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination.

A candidate who has completed qualifying qualification from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

SIMS

Master of Business Administration

Candidate should be a graduate from any statutory university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) at graduation level.

Candidates appearing for final year examinations can also apply, but their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination. 

Defence category candidates should be children/ward/spouse of Defence personnel.


A candidate who has completed qualifying qualification from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

SIOM – Nashik

Master of Business Administration (Operations Management)

Candidate should be an Engineering Graduate (BE/ BTech in any stream) from a statutory University with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates). Candidates appearing for final year examinations can also apply, but their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination.

A candidate who has completed qualifying qualification from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities (AIU). 

 

SCIT

Master of Business Administration (Data Sciences & Data Analytics)

Candidate should be a graduate of any faculty with Mathematics at +2 level of any statutory University with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST). Candidates appearing for final year examinations can also apply, but their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) at qualifying examination.

A candidate who has completed qualifying qualification from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

SNAP 2018 Reservation Criteria

The reservation policy for claiming seats in SNAP 2018 is to be followed as per the UGC Guidelines/Regulations. The UGC guidelines are not followed by the Symbiosis Institutes of Management Studies since it follows its own guidelines and rules.

Seat Reservation within the Intake

There is reservation for certain categories within the sanctioned intake as approved by the admission committee of the Symbiosis International University.

SIU 2018 Seat Reservation Over and Above Intake

Automated admission is granted to Officers of Armed Forces presently serving study leave as approved by their respective Services Head Quarters.


SNAP Eligibility 2018 for International Applicants

Students from the below categories are eligible to apply for SNAP:

  1. Foreign National- He is a person who permanently resides out of India and does not hold citizenship of India. A candidate must hold a foreign passport and be a citizen of a foreign country in order to fall under this category.
  2. Person of Indian Origin (PIO)- Candidates who possess a Person of Indian Origin Card (PIO) if they have a PIO card and is a citizen of any other country than India can apply for admission under than this category.
  3. Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)- In order to apply under OCI category, a candidate should have an OCI card and should have the overseas citizenship of India. (Overseas Citizen of India are Persons of Indian Origin of certain categories who migrated from India and acquired citizenship of a foreign country, other than Pakistan and Bangladesh.)
  4. Non-Resident Indian (NRI)- A candidate will be considered to be an NRI if he/she has given the 10+2 or graduation exam from a country outside India. It is compulsory that the candidate should have completed at least one of the 2 qualifying exams outside India.

NOTE: The Postgraduate candidates who come under the purview of NRI category and have given their graduation exams in India should compulsorily give SNAP.

Special Criteria for International Applicants in SNAP 2018

  • Candidates applying under Foreign Nationals/OCI/PIO category must have passed an English Proficiency Test.
  • They have the option to appear either for IELTS (conducted by British Council) or IELA (conducted by Symbiosis). Candidates need to obtain band 6 for IELTS and band 4 for IELA.
  • The final eligibility will be determined by Symbiosis International University post submission of all the requisite documents.
  • International Applicants must possess following documents for Registration:
    1. Form – A
    2. Proof of Residence (Leave & License agreement/C Form should be submitted within 24 hours to FRO ‘C’ window
    3. Passport Copy and Visa Copy along with the arrival stamp page
    4. Bonafide Certificate and Letter of Provisional Admission from the University College/Institution in case of a student visa

Ans: Yes, a student with dual degree can also apply for SNAP.

Ques: Can final year students are eligible for giving SNAP?

Ans: Yes, final year students are eligible for SNAP.

Ques: What are the changes introduced in SNAP last year(2017)?

Ans: There are four major changes:

  • In past candidates can register either through online mode or through offline mode but now, Registration is done only in online mode.
  • SNAP was Pen paper based exam but now, it is Computer based exam
  • Registration fee is increased from INR 1500 to INR 1750
  • Question numbers are now decreased to 150 from 180

If a Student got back paper in 4th semester and his or her overall percentage till 2nd year is below 50% the he or she can sit for SNAP 2018?

Hi Mritunjay, You need to complete your Bachelor for getting the SNAP the basic eligibility conditions required to apply for SNAP are listed below:-

  • General category candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks
  • Reserved category candidates must have obtained at least 45% marks in Bachelors.
  • Candidates appearing in final year examination are also eligible. 
  • There is no age-limit to apply for SNAP.
