RIT Bangalore Admission 2027 is open for BE, B.Arch, M.Tech, M.Arch, MBA, MCA, Ph.D and M.Sc (Engg) by research. RIT is an autonomous college under VTU, so it does not hold its own entrance test. BE seats are filled through KCET and KEA counselling, or through COMEDK UGET and COMEDK counselling. For B.Arch, you need a NATA score and the KEA form. M.Tech, M.Arch, MBA and MCA seats are filled through Karnataka PGCET and KEA counselling. RIT also fills some seats under the management quota. For 2026 to 27, the first year BE fee was INR 1.41 Lakhs on a KCET seat. KCET 2027 registration should open on 17 Jan 2027 (tentative, based on last year).
RIT Bangalore BE Admission 2027
RIT offers BE in 17 branches, from Computer Science and Engineering to Aerospace and Medical Electronics. Most seats go to students with a KCET rank or a COMEDK UGET rank. Computer Science and Engineering has 180 seats, and Information Science and Electronics and Communication have 120 each. Your rank and the order of your options decide the branch you get.
RIT Bangalore BE Eligibility 2027
You need to pass Class 12 with Physics and Maths. Your third subject can be Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science or Electronics. You need 45% in these subjects if you are in the general group, and 40% if you are SC, ST, Category 1 or OBC. You also need a KCET rank or a COMEDK UGET rank.

RIT Bangalore B.Arch Admission 2027
B.Arch at RIT is a five year degree in the Department of Architecture. To get a government seat, you need a NATA score and the KEA form. RIT also fills some B.Arch seats under the management quota. The first year fee on a KEA seat was INR 1.43 Lakhs for 2026 to 27.

RIT offers M.Tech in 11 specialisations. They include Computer Science and Engineering, VLSI Design and Embedded Systems, Data Sciences and Structural Engineering. Seats are filled through Karnataka PGCET and KEA counselling, and a valid GATE score is also accepted. Where RIT has printed the figure, a specialisation has 18 or 30 seats.
RIT Bangalore M.Tech Eligibility 2027
You need a BE or B.Tech in a related branch with 50% in total across all years. If you are an SC, ST or Category 1 student from Karnataka, you need 45%. VTU does not round off your percentage, so 49.9% is not 50%. A degree earned through distance education is not accepted for M.Tech.

RIT Bangalore M.Tech Fees at Admission 2027
The fee you pay depends on your specialisation. For 2026 to 27, Structural Engineering, Biotechnology and Aerospace cost INR 1.02 Lakhs on a PGCET seat. The other eight specialisations cost INR 1.09 Lakhs. On a management seat, the fee was INR 1.32 Lakhs or INR 1.89 Lakhs.
RIT offers a two year MBA under VTU. Most students join through Karnataka PGCET and KEA counselling. RIT also accepts KMAT, CMAT and MAT scores for its management seats. The first year fee on a PGCET seat was INR 90,050 for 2026 to 27, and INR 3.82 Lakhs on a management seat.

Short answers to what students ask before they apply.
What do the four choices after a KEA seat result mean?▾
After each round, KEA asks you to pick one of four choices. Choice 1 means you are happy and join the seat. Choice 2 means you keep the seat but want a better one later. Choice 3 means you drop this seat but stay for the next round, and Choice 4 means you leave counselling.
Can I write both KCET and COMEDK UGET?▾
Yes. They are separate exams with separate forms, so you can write both. If you get RIT seats through both, you must keep only one and cancel the other before the last date.
What is an SNQ seat at RIT?▾
It is an extra seat given through KEA with a much lower fee. For 2026 to 27, the first year total on such a seat at RIT was INR 52,820. KEA decides who can claim it, so read the KEA brochure before you add it to your form.
Who can take an NRI seat in BE?▾
Children of Indian origin parents working in Gulf countries, foreign citizens and PIO students can apply. You need 50% in the optional subjects of Class 12, with English as one language you studied.
What extra papers does an NRI student bring?▾
Bring a copy of your parent's passport and a work certificate for at least two years. You also need a letter from the Indian Embassy, a residence permit, an HIV test report, and your passport and visa copies.
How many sets of copies should I carry when I report?▾
Carry all originals and three full sets of copies, attested by a gazetted officer with a seal. The admission order needs four copies of its own. Keep every set in the order you see on the RIT check list.
What is the study and conduct certificate?▾
It is a letter from your school that says you studied there and your conduct was good. You need it for a KEA seat, covering 7 years under the urban rule or 10 years under the rural rule.
I studied Class 12 outside Karnataka. What extra paper do I need?▾
You need a migration certificate from your board. Ask your school for it as soon as your result comes, because it can take a few weeks.
Why does RIT ask for a blood group report?▾
It is on the RIT reporting check list for every student. Get a simple blood group test report from any lab before you report.
Can I staple my certificates together?▾
No. RIT asks you not to staple or pin the form and certificates. Use a jump clip if you need to hold the papers together.
Should I keep scanned copies of my documents?▾
Yes. RIT sends your documents to VTU for admission approval, so you must keep a scanned copy of every original. Save them in one folder on your phone.
Can a diploma holder join BE at RIT in the second year?▾
Yes. Through the KEA diploma quota, you can join the third semester directly. You need 45% in your three year diploma, or 40% if you are SC, ST or Category 1.
Can I get a management seat with a JEE Main rank?▾
Yes. RIT takes a JEE rank card for its management quota, just like a KCET or COMEDK one. Contact the admission section early, and carry the card when you report.
Which scholarships can SC and ST students get?▾
You can apply for the Post Matric Scholarship and fee payback from the Government of Karnataka. Collect the form from the Admission and Scholarship Section in September.
Is there help for Category 1, 2 and 3 students?▾
Yes. You can get a fee cut and an extra boarding and lodging allowance from the state. Keep your caste and income certificate ready, since the form asks for it.
