The factors of 6 are 1, 2, 3, and 6. When we divide 6 by any of these numbers, we get 0 as the remainder. Thus, 6 is completely divisible by these numbers, and thus 1, 2, 3, and 6 are called the factors of 6. For example: when two integers are multiplied to get 6 as a result, they are called the pair factors of 6.

Factors of 6 are the list of integers that can be evenly divided into 6. There are overall 4 factors of 6 i.e. 1, 2, 3 and 6 where 6 is the biggest factor. The sum of all factors of 6 is 12. 

  • Its Prime Factors are 1, 2, 3, 6 and (1, 6) and (2, 3) are Pair Factors. 
  • Factors of 6 are the numbers that divide it completely to give 0 as a remainder.

From the above, we can say that any number that divides 6 and gives a remainder of 0 is a factor of 6.

To find the pair factors of 6, multiply two numbers so that the result is 6.

To calculate the factors of any number by the division method, divide the number by different integers. If the integer divides the number and leaves the remainder as 0, then it is the factor of 6.

Let us now look at an example of how to calculate this.

  • 6/1 = 6 (here the factor is 1 and the remainder is 0).
  • 6/2 = 3 (In this case, the factor is 2 and the remainder is 0).
  • 6/3 = 2 (In this case, the factor is 3 and the remainder is 0).
  • 6/6 = 1 (the factor is 6 and the remainder is 0).
  • 6/5, But, in the case of any other number, if we divide 6 by that number, it will leave some remainder. As in the case of 5, i.e., 6/5, the remainder is 1. Therefore, it is not a factor of 6.

Prime factors of any number are the products of two or more prime factors. As we already know from this article, 6 is a composite number, which means it will have some prime factors.

To calculate the prime factorization of 6

6/2 = 3.

Here, we will divide 6 by the smallest prime number, which is 2. But for calculating the prime factor of 6, we will keep on dividing the answer until we get 1 as the remainder.

Now, 3/3 = 1. The remainder is 0. As a result, we can conclude that the prime factors of 6 are 2 and 3, where 2 and 3 are prime numbers.

Ans. As we know, 

Area = Length x Breadth.

Hence, (2,3) will be the dimension of the curtain for his window.
