JET 2018 Exam Pattern

JET 2018 is national level entrance test organized by Jain University for admission to different UG and PG courses. JET 2018 Exam Pattern for Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses remains same in terms of section and number of questions except B.Tech which has a similar structure to other engineering tests like JEE Main, BITSAT, etc.

  • Admission is strictly based on the merit of candidates in JET 2018.
  • JET will be conducted via both online and offline mode.
  • Total time duration allotted to complete the exam is three hours.
  • Question will be objective type and the medium of instruction will be English.
  • The paper will have 4 sections depending on the program opted by the applicant.
  • Syllabus of JET 2018 UG (B.tech) will be based on Class XI & XII of CBSE for Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.
  • For other UG and PG courses, test will comprise subject-based questions along with several general aptitude topis

JET 2018 for Postgraduate programs is scheduled on January 20 while the test for UG Programs is scheduled on May 05 and 06, 2018. All JET 2018 aspirants must register for the test at www.jainuniversity.ac.in.

JET 2018 Exam Pattern in Detail

With the exception of B.Tech, JET 2018 Exam Pattern will remain same for all undergraduate courses and all postgraduate courses. Candidates can check sections and distributions of marks in the tables below.

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)

This section will consist of 4 sections. Time duration of the exam will be 3 hours.

For UG programme (except B.tech)

The exam is for 100 marks and followed by group discussion & personal interview. Group Discussion involves assessment of personality traits, leadership qualities and attitude. It is an exercise in which participants exchange ideas on the given topic. If the candidate passes the other levels he/she is called for Personal interview by the Admission Committee.

For PG Programme

JET 2018 Marking scheme

The marking scheme for JET 2018 is not released yet. However, it is expected that there won’t be too many changes from previous year pattern. Marking Scheme of JET 2017 for Btech courses is given below:

  1. For each correct answer : +4 marks.
  2. For each wrong answer : -1 mark.
  3. For each un-attempted question: 0 mark.

JET 2018 Syllabus

The syllabus for Jain Entrance Test (JET) is based on the 10+2 curriculum precribed by CBSE and other recognized boards in India. For B.Tech, the syllabus comprises Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of class 12th level.The syllabus for Post Graduate programs is uniform. It covers topics prescribed in the curriculum of Graduation.

For Btech

The syllabus of JET 2018 UG (B.tech) will be based on Class XI & XII Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.

Physics:

Geometric Optics (Refraction At Prism, Plane And Spherical Surface), Physical Optics ( Interference, Diffraction, Polarisation And Speed Of Light), Electrostatic, Capacitors, Current Electricity, EMI, Atomic Physics, Scattering Of Light, Lasers, Radioactivity, Elementary Particles, Solid State Electronics, Digital Electronics, Soft Condensed Materials.

Chemistry

Metallurgy, Group 18, Noble Gases, Dblock Elements, Coordination Compounds, Chemical Bonding, Chemical Kinetics, Electrochemistry, Solutions, Thermodynamics, Colloids, Solids, Organic Chemistry (Isomers, Hydrocarbons, Haloalkanes, Aldehydes, Ketones, Alkyl Groups,Amines), Biomolecules.

Mathematics

Algebra, Matrices And Determinants, Vectors, Geometry (Circles And Conic Sections), Trignometry, Inverse Trigonometric Functions, Complex Numbers, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Differential Equations

For UG programmes (except B.tech)
