JEECUP 2020 Eligibility Criteria

    Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education (UPBTE) will release the notification for JEECUP 2020. The offline exam will be conducted on April 26, 2020. All Polytechnic aspirants can apply for JEECUP 2020 tentatively till February 2, 2020. The basic eligibility to apply is a candidate should be 10th class pass with a minimum of 35% aggregate marks.

    • Candidates who are appearing in class 12 or have passed class 12 can also register for JEECUP 2020.
    • Candidates should be minimum 14 years old as on July 1, 2020.
    • Only candidates holding the domicile of Uttar Pradesh are eligible to apply.

    JEECUP Course wise Eligibility 2020

    The minimum pass marks are 35% in class 10 and they differ from course to course. The table provided below depicts the course wise minimum marks required by a candidate to apply:

    JEECUP Age limit 2020

    Candidate should be a minimum of 14 years as on July 1, 2020.  As per UPBTE’s instructions, there is no upper age limit to appear in the exam.

    JEECUP Domicile Criteria 2020

    • Candidates who have the domicile of Uttar Pradesh state are permitted to apply for the examination.
    • Candidates who have passed their 10th or 12th from the schools situated in Uttar Pradesh board are also eligible for the test.

    Q.1: Is there any age bar for JEECUP?

    A. Candidates should be minimum 14 years old as on 1st July 2020 to apply for JEECUP. Also, there is no upper age limit to appear in the exam.

    Q.2: I have not done my class 10 and I am appearing in class 10 exam. Can I apply for JEECUP 2020?

    Ans: Yes, you can appear for JEECUP exam. But, you will be admitted on provisional basis. Make sure you have your class 10 degree in hand before June 15, 2020.

    Q.3: Can a candidate take JEECUP for practice, even though if he is not eligible to apply?

    Ans. No, a candidate is not allowed to take JEECUP without satisfying the eligibility criteria. Hence, you must make sure that you satisfy all the conditions defined by UPTBE.

    Q.4: Am I eligible to apply for JEECUP 2020 if I have done class 10 outside form UP?

    Ans. You are allowed to apply, if only you have the domicile of UP. Otherwise, the school must be UP Board approved.

    Q.5: Am I eligible to apply for all the Polytechnic courses after clearing the JEECUP Exam?

    Ans. Yes, of course! JEECUP is a gateway to all Polytechnic courses offered by UPBTE. Once you clear the exam, you may apply to any of your choice of programme. However, you must attain the minimum JEECUP criteria for that course.
