| Ques. Determine the value of x in the figure below: Ans. We know that adjacent angles ∠POR and ∠QOR form a linear pair. Therefore, ∠POR + ∠QOR = 180° Substituting the values from the figure in the equation we get, ⇒ (2x + 60°) + (3x – 40)° = 180° ⇒ 2x + 60 + 3x – 40 = 180° ⇒ 5x + 20 = 180° ⇒ 5x = 180 – 20 = 160 ⇒ x = 32 Hence, the value of x = 32. |
