Delhi Government Cancels All Even Semester Diploma Level Exams 2020; Read to know the promotion criteria

The Board of Technical Education (BTE) has released a notification stating the cancellation of all even semester Diploma Level Examination 2020 for all semester, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

How will students be promoted?

The students of all semesters will now be promoted on the basis of internal assessment and previous year performance in end semester BTE examination, and 50% weightage will be given to both.

The notice also mentions that students will be provided an opportunity in the coming future to improve their results if they are not satisfied by the result under promotion criteria. 

For Compartment Students 

Students having compartment in any of the previous semesters and have completed the course duration as per BTE rules in May/June 2020, will be given a time of one year to qualify their diploma and clear all the semesters.

Delhi government also filed an affidavit expressing their disinterest to hold the final examinations at the state universities. The Supreme Court has now granted time to UGC to respond to the filed affidavit.

Meanwhile, Delhi government has also announced the establishment of Delhi's own education board by 2021.The new education board will be formed in accordance to the National Education Policy 2020. The major feature involves focus on continuous evaluation instead of year-end examinations.
